Process in pictures - Proceso en imágenes

In a faraway place, far away from human eyes, where they cannot reach, there is a place where colours shine and nothing is what it seems.

A world where the clouds glow, the water changes colour at every moment, the water lilies float or fly over the crystal clear water and are enormous.

A space where the mountains have strange shapes similar to sea and land snails, but their texture is camouflaged with the colours of the sky.

It is a place where ships drift, and their hulls are shaped like shells, their sails are shaped like birds' feathers, and they are inhabited by invisible beings that carry them from one side to the other.

The clouds look like brushstrokes that someone else gave, perhaps a world inside a canvas that lies in the deepest imagination of a sleeping painter.

Design process

The design is made with 4 images and in 22 layers.

The background is a layer with two gradient colours, on which I placed the image of the sea in several layers.

On the first layer starting from the bottom upwards I placed a photocopy filter and a darken blend.

The second layer was the same as the previous one but with a multiply fusion. The following layers were made without filters, but with fusions, soft light, colour underexposure and luminosity.

The water lilies I arranged them in three layers with a darker colour fusion, those three I duplicated them in the place and with the same scale as the previous ones but with a lighter colour fusion.

From the image of the shells I chose some of them to make the surrealist mountains creating a layer mask in each one so that later with a gradient I could generate the intermingling with the background. In each layer I also varied the blending modes as I liked.

I chose one of the shells to be the boat, and the feather for the sail. To both I made the layer mask as in the previous case for the same function.

Finally with a pink brush, I created three clouds in different layers and positions and a darker colour fusion, that later in the animation will move from one side to the other.

The animation is completely done in After Effects, working the opacity of each layer and adding lights in the form of clouds for a better contrast.

En un lugar muy lejano, lejos de las miradas humanas, allá donde ellos no pueden llegar, existe un sitio en donde brillan los colores y nada es lo que parece.

Un mundo en donde las nubes resplandecen, el agua cambia de color a cada instante, los nenúfares flotan o vuelan sobre el agua cristalina y son enormes.

Un espacio donde las montañas tienen formas extrañas parecidas a caracoles tanto de mar como de tierra, pero su textura se entremezcla con los colores del cielo.

Es un lugar donde los barcos navegan a la deriva, y su casco tiene forma de caracolas, sus velas forman de plumas de aves y están habitados por seres invisibles que los llevan de un lado al otro.

Las nubes parecen pinceladas que alguien más dio, tal vez un mundo dentro de un lienzo que se halla en la imaginación más profunda de un pintor que duerme.

Proceso del diseño

El diseño esta realizado con 4 imágenes y en 22 capas.

El fondo es una capa con dos colores como degradado, sobre la cual coloqué la imagen del mar en varias capas.

A la primera comenzando de abajo hacia arriba le coloqué un filtro de fotocopia y una fusión de oscurecer.

La segunda capa igual que la anterior, pero con fusión de multiplicar. las siguientes capas las realicé sin filtros, pero con fusiones, luz suave, subexponer color y luminosidad.

Los nenúfares los dispuse en tres capas con fusión color más oscuro, esas tres las dupliqué en el lugar y con la escala que tienen las anteriores, pero con fusión color más claro.

De la imagen de las caracolas elegí algunas para realizar las montañas surrealistas creando una máscara de capa en cada una para que luego con un degradado pudiera generar el entremezclado con el fondo. En cada capa también varié los modos de fusión a gusto.

Una de las caracolas la elegí para hacer de barco, y la pluma para vela. A ambas le realicé la máscara de capa como en el caso anterior para la misma función.

Finalmente, con un pincel de color rosado, cree tres nubes en capas y posiciones distintas y fusión color más oscuro, que luego en la animación se moverán de un lado al otro.

La animación está realizada completamente en After Effects, trabajando la opacidad de cada capa y agregando luces en forma de nubes para un mejor contraste.
