The New Me

We are in the new year already and I'm really glad I made it. So many things happened but I'm still here.
Many died, many kidnapped, many were used for ritual but I received the grace to be among the living and I don't take it for granted. It's not because I'm better than those who are no more but it's just by His grace.

As the previous year was ending, and we are about stepping into the new year, it's very important to analyze the wins and losses of the year and also look into all the factors that contributed to it. This will help to determine what and what to let go of and other things to do more.
There are some things that I did in 2024 that were not in my favour at all which I'm going to let go of so that it doesn't affect my progress in 2025.

The first very important thing is that I forgive myself and let go of all the guilt I carry. I will no longer blame myself for anything anymore. I refuse to live in the bondage of guilt from now till forever.

The next is in the area of my finances. It seems I've been doing too much for those that don't even appreciate me. More than half of my monthly income goes to this and I've discovered that it is not even appreciated by the people I'm sacrificing and giving all for. So, I asked myself 'what is the essence?' Why am I killing myself for people who don't care if I live or die? therefore, from this day forward, I will no longer be making that sacrifice anymore. Whatever I earn is mine and would not be given to any ingrate.

To the things I want to start doing in this new year, I just want to be happy. I will make myself happy by doing things that bring me happiness. I will show up for myself and be my own hype man any time any day. I will embrace the unknown with courage because I know I am capable of anything I put my mind to.

This year, I am ready to turn my goals into reality by discarding procrastination and moving with zeal, courage and determination to attain excellence in all that I do.
I'll learn new things that will improve my craft and keep getting better in what I do.

This year, I'm determined to choose my battles wisely and not care about the oppressed or the oppressor. I'm not ready to take any bullet for anyone this year.

This year, I want to take care of myself by all means. My looks and everything. Spend my money on myself and look good. I just want to look out for me because I think I haven't been doing that at all. I look out for others and forget about myself. It's no longer happening this year.
