Splinterlands Weekly Battle Challenge! | Octopus Beast, Kulu Swimhunter!
Kulu Swimhunters are members of a race of squid-like creatures that hunt in packs. They use their multiple tentacles to wield all manner of projectiles, to include spears, coral, and even fish. They are very aggressive and are known to traverse oceans, lakes, and rivers, killing for sport and leaving a trail of destruction in their wake. They do not value gold or glory and will ally themselves with whoever promises the greatest opportunity to hunt and kill.

My Line Up Explanation
- Leagues = Silver 3
- Fog of War = Monsters lose the Sneak and Snipe abilities.
- Stampede = The Trample ability can trigger multiple times per attack if the trampled Monster is killed.
- summoner = Life and death can't be used
Today I used a level 3 kelya Frendul to give buffs to our weekly monsters, Kulu Swimhunter. This summoner will give 1 speed and 1 armor to all our monsters, this buff is very good to use against melee and ranged attacks and this buff also makes our monsters attacking faster and evading more likely
I often use Cruel Sethropod as my main tank when it comes to low mana cap. my strategy is using this card as low tanks to safe the mana in order to summon main attacker later. this card is quite reliable because it has 4 mana and 3 armors to make this card could receive some damages
In fog of war ruleset forces every player to put their best monsters in the front. I put this strong legendary magic card to be my fierce tank not only in receiving magic damage but also in dealing magic damage.
Sneak and snipe is dissabled in fog of war rulesets. that makes middle to last position saver from surprise attacks. But we still have to aware of opportunity cause this ability targetting low health monsters regardless of the monsters position. I used Hardy stonefish to be a damage taker here
Having almost similat stats with hardy stonefish, I would like to use this legendary zero mana card to be a decoy as well. the strategy is to distract the enemy attacks on these cards instead of attacking the main cards (kulu swimhunter)
Finally the last position cards is revealed and also this strong water monsters is our highlighted card this week. The level 2 Kulu swimhunter That I used having 2 ranged attacks and 5 health.I put this card in the last position to ensures it could dealing harmful damage round to round.
Did My Strategy Worked? What will I do Differently?
As I was predicted and awared of, the enemy is obviously using some opportunity monsters. But unfortunately the enemy fallen to my traps 🤣. Also He used tarsa, a natural counter for kelya. A combination of kulu swimhunter and cruel sethropod manage to kill some of the enemy's monsters and helped me to win this battle.
About This Monsters
What I like about this monster :
- low mana This card only need 4 mana to summon. it is very usefull in some situations when we need a good monsters in our line-up
- 2 ranged damage This cards has 2 damage which is very helpfull in dealing combo attacks to break enemy's armor or dealing some damage
What i don't like about this monster:
- Doesn't hv abilities, If this cards has ability, it would be interesting. But I guess this card would be expensive if that's happening 😂
When to use This monsters
I suggest you to use this monster only for this situation:
- little leagues This card obviously one of the best cards that can be used in little leagues rulesets cause it has 2 damage
- Fog of war This card could deal continues damage if properly placed in the backrow
- Close ranged Having this card in this rulesets obviously very usefull cause it will allows it attacks from anywhere.
When to Avoid using This Monsters :
I don't recommend you to use this monster for this situation below:
- high mana cap, This card is actually not that good in terms of stats and abilities. Especially in water splinter. The water splinter consist of lot of betters stats monsters
- Noxious fumes and Earthquake, Since this cards only has decent health, I recommend not to use it. It could be killed before dealing some damage instead.
