Splinterlands Social Media Challenge! | Trying the Queen of Splinterlands, Mycelia
A dark and dank estate was overseen by a fearsome noble woman. She craved ever more and more, and had her slaves dig deep into the mountains that bordered her home. Seeking riches within the depths. My Line Up Explanation
Leagues = Silver 3
Armor up = All Monsters have 2 Armor in addition to their normal Armor stat. Use magic attacks, but the opponent will do the same, so focus on HP. Is countered by Rust or Wizard of Eastwood's summoner ability. ofc I will go with obsidian thought cause my eastwood's is not level 2 yet and I want more magic things in my line-up
38 mana = Gonna try to summon some combo
summoner = Life and dragon can't be used
Actually the Obsidian that I used was in level 2, Choosing magic deck in this kind of situation is probably will be chosen by most of the player because it is apparently not wise to use ranged and melee base damage, simply because they will hit the armor first. So, I was avoiding that and using my sneaky Obsidian is a great option here. I have several powerful mage that will help me in this battle
I have stated before that choosing a melee monsters is not a good option in armor up ruleset, but in terms of needing a nice tank melee monsters have variety of choices instead. The tank dan I wanted to use is Grund, I would say this card is better at some point than mustang. especially in this battle we could know that grund would have an advantage due to his double strike awesome ability
The second monster that I used in this battle was the slow but formidable, Goblin psychic this card really good to have not only affordable but also having excellence ability that heal our tank. I put this card here to take some snipe damage, it's not a problem since he has 5 health in level 3 to take some damage. this card is also dealing huge magic attacks to the enemy.
The third monsters I used is the prettiest creature in the splinterlands, the charming queen mycelia. I put her in this position to hide in order to her ability will be useful before she get targetted by an attack. this card has protect ability that gives another additional armor. so basically now we have doubled armor. it is obviusly a winning whenever the enemy use melee or ranged monsters
The fourth card that I summoned was spirit hoarder, this tiny creature has huge effect due to its ability that heal the backline ally whom receive the most damage. this ability easily be used with taunt monsters whereas in earth splinter I have miclic slipspawn that ready to do some combo's with this card. I put it in this position to avoid huge damage from snipe monsters
We already has a queen in this battle so why not playing the princess as well 🤣. The fifth monsters that I choose is actually a filler to the left mana that can be used. after choosing the main monsters, I would say this is the best monsters I had to fill the blank spot in my line-up. with obsidian in play this card is actually good to deal additional damage
last but not the least, the last puzzle of our line-up was on the battlefield now, the combo is letting all the damage taken by this monsters and later will be healed by triage ability from the tiny spirit hoarder. this scheme will keep mycelic slipspawn survive in the battlefield longer to take more damage while my other monsters focus on dealing damage.
Did My Strategy Worked? What will I do Differently?
grund is better than mustang this time, mustang needs 2 round to break grunds armor but my grund can do that in a round, thanks for the queen mycelia. my slipspawn get healed when leaving with only 4 healt thus makin it advantage for me. but the enemy's slipspawn didnt get healed and was killed by my monsters. Unfortunately the enemy's mustang also didn't get healed in time and following slipspawn in the afterlife.
About Queen mycelia
What I like about this monster :
- Protect the ability to give armor to ally monster is just awesome, comparing to another protect monsters from life (truthspeaker) and water splinter (venari wavesmith) clearly queen mycelia got the best stats by having less mana and magic attacks
- 4 mana cost use only 4 mana while having a great ability and +1 magic attack making this card always has a spot in my line-up
When to use Queen mycelia
I suggest you to use this monster only for this situation:
- to be honest this monsters is very flexible and fits in many situations
When to Avoid using Queen mycelia :
I don't recommend you to use this monster for this situation below:
- I would say avoid using it as a low health monsters in equal opportunity ruleset. other than that if you put this card in proper position it will lead us to win most battles
