Splinterlands Social Media Challenge! | Gold Gargoyla Devil safe the day!
div class="text-justify">The living stone creatures known as gargoya are an especially unique result of battle on the other side of the world with the Chaos Legion. Years ago there was a great stone tower, far away from the Splinterlands and taller than any of its buildings. It was the former tower of a conquered lord, empty and protected only by the dozens of magnificent gargoyles that adorned its architecture. When the Chaos Legion first approached from the rift in the stars, great glowing meteors fell from the sky. They crushed the tower to rubble, but the gargoyles were somehow left unscathed. Not only that, but they were now alive; still stone, but alive. They took off as a tribe across the sea to find a new home as their world was essentially destroyed behind them.

My Line Up Explanation
- Leagues = Silver 1
- Lost Magic = Monsters with Magic attack may not be used in battles.
- 99 mana = Max mana in the game. it's like eating in all you can eat stall 🤣
- summoner = Only Dragon and water were allowed
Since my water splinter summoner is still at lv 1, I used dragon summoner instead that already has quix the devious at level 2. I's also a good point in picking dragon splinter in this situation cause we still could choose the water splinter as the additional splinters. I was trying to maximize card choice here
lacking of good tank in the water splinter, willy nilly I choose a tank from the dragon splinters. This time I used Desert Dragon as my tank. this card has 2 abilities on level 2 which are Trample and Piercing. Trample allows this card to perform another attacks if the target get killed by this cards attacks. while, piercing will apply damage to armored monsters it this card's attack greater than the targets armor
It is always good to choose a high health monsters in high mana cap cause our enemy will likely using high health monsters as well. My best bet in the battle was flying Squid with 8 health. Flying squid has reach ability that makes this card could attack in the second position
The monster that we are highlighted today is a gold Gargoyla Devil. I found this card in a daily loot chest. eventhough it's on scholarship account but I feel happy seeing it turns gold and I could playing it like what happens in this post. This cards has the flying ability and close range. It's okay to put this card in this position cause this card has the close range ability
The fourth card was Deeplurker. Leaving with limited monsters to be chosen, this card will definately secure a spot because it has great stats. Especially, it's attack and opportunity ability that will targetting low health monsters first.
Quix the devious has the ability to lowered the enemy's speed. while this cards giving speed buff to ally monsters. with that ability I wanted to make sure that my monsters could attacks first and could evade more attacks
last but not the least, I have another ranged monsters in my line-up. it would be awfull if the enemy using quix the devious too. But I left with limited monsters so I would say this card could get a good ranged damage and hopefully will help me win in this battle
Did My Strategy Worked? What will I do Differently?
The enemy was using Kelya. The enemy tanks has shield and high armor making my monsters difficult to kill instantly. but luckily as you can see in the battle replay, my gold gargoyla devil safe this day by evading lot of attacks that gives my other monster to deal continues damage from the backline. Some people complain on why their flying monsters always get hitted while if their enemy use a flying monsters they would be difficult to hit that monsters. I would say its normal, it's how it works. Fying monsters is a strategy it's not gambling.
About This Monsters
What I like about this monster :
- Flying ability This ability making this card could evade attacks better, it means no damage will be taken and that's a good point for us
- Close range ability This cards close range abilty is very useful cause it makes this card able to attacks regardless if it is in the first position
What i don't like about this monster:
- 3 health only, This cards has low health, it will be a nightmare if the enemy use magic and high attacks monsters
- high mana spent This cards consumes 7 mana to summon, it's hard to use this card in several situations. especially in low mana cap
When to use This monsters
I suggest you to use this monster only for this situation:
- lost magic rulesets No magic monsters means this card's armor will be usefull to makes this cards survive longer.
- Equalizer Despite having good stats and 2 ability this cards is still not too good because of the low health. But with equalizer in play we could definately use this cards
- earthquake This cards has the flying abiilty, this cards will stay unharmed in the same time harming the enemy.
When to Avoid using This Monsters :
I don't recommend you to use this monster for this situation below:
- low mana cap, Unless it is a low mana cap and earthquake rulesets I highly recommend not to use this card
