Welcome! to my splinterlands Battle Weekly Challenge, today we will discuss deeply about deeplurker. Terrifying to behold, Deeplurkers are a poisonous fish that dwell at the bottom of the ocean and prey on the weak. However, they are known to travel to the surface in times of dire need. Many believe that they are sensitive to the balance of elemental water magic and, when that balance is in danger, the Deeplurkers rise to attack or defend it.

My Line Up Explanation
- leagues = Silver 3
- Noxious Fumes = All monsters start the battle poisoned
- Reverse Speed = Monsters with the lowest speed attack first and have the highest chance of evading attack
- summoner = All summoner available
The summoner that I used in this battles was Kelya Frendul It is a rare water summoner from the Chaos Legion edition, currently it is playable freely in the game. Well I don't know what I was thinking about when choosing kelya as a summoner in a reverse speed ruleset 😂, but as silly as I was my enemy also chose Kelya. Kelya give +1 to speed and shield to all ally monsters, unfortunately the battle's rule was reverse speed so the speed buff become debuff to all monsters.
The battle rule was reverse speed and noxious fumes, according to that rules keep in mind that you bring cleanse or immune monsters and choose monsters that has lowest speed from your collection. in silver 3 leagues there were few players that has immune monster. so I thought that my enemy will choose between fire or water splinter cause it has cleanse monsters in it. back to the strategy I put this Albattros in the first position to receive the first damage to let our monsters that we planned to give cleanse don't receive to much damage in early battle
I planned to get this card to be cleansed by river nymph and placed him in the second position because albattros will receive damage for the first time in order to save some health, then this creature will come forward as a tank and will get cleanse after the next round. His 2 speed will be usefull in reverse speed ruleset but I did a mistake using kelya as my summoner giving +1 speed to all my monsters, I could choose bortus instead. I suggest to put your tank in the second position in terms of noxiuos fumes ruleset.
In chaos legion edition there were only two monster that has cleanse ability the first is this card and the second is scavo chemist in the fire splinter. this card mana cost is twice as much as scavo chemist but this card has magic attack. I usually put this card behind the tank that I want to cleanse from poison. this card will do damage to enemy's monster and do cleanse to my monsters, due to her 3 health this card will stay alive for 2 rounds from poison damage applied. this card is quite useful in dealing and giving buff.
The mana cap was 18, it means that we can only summon monsters up to 18 mana. once we already securing the main monsters (deeplurker and river nymp) now we need to look for other card with only 3 mana left. I chose to use Ice pixie in this position to be a magic damager eventhough it will only survive for a round but that 1 damage can be a key winning to our battle. this card is th best card in water splinter for low mana cap. I put this card behind the river nymph.
This is another rookie mistake I made, choosing ooze in reverse speed ruleset this card actually give buff instead to all enemy monsters. I could choose chaos agent instead of this card. However his positive effect will only last for a round cause he will be killed by poison damage later. this card only cost a mana to use and his ability is lowering enemy speed by 1, this card is very useful. I bought this card,its usable in many situations, I also won a lot battle just by using this card so I decide that it's better owning it than renting it.
Did My Strategy Worked? What will I do Differently?
Using kelya as the summoner was a big mistake in reverse speed battle but my enemy did a bigger mistake than me, choosing kelya and diemon shark as his tank, diemon shark already has 4 basics speed adding kelya effect that make his tank easily to hit. there were 2 mistakes I made in the battle I would rather choose bortus in reverse speed ruleset and will not choose ooze in the ruleset as well. you can replace ooze with hardy stonefish or chaos agent. well this is not that good but it teaches me to be more careful in choosing monsters for future battle
About Deeplurker
What I like about this monster :
- has 3 Melee Attack, this card basic attack is 3 it is a big attack, normally the higher attacks will win the battle;
- got 6 mana cost and opportunity abilty thus making him playable in many situations. The mana cost save our mana limit to summon other monsters. His Opportunity ability give can be annoying to enemy's strategy, usually the monsters with lower health has buff or debuff that the enemy needs
What i don't like about this monster:
- The speed of this card in level 1 only 2 actually it's good but the higher the speed the better this card will be
When to use Deeplurker
I suggest you to use this monster only for this situation:
- On high mana cap battle. This ruleset allow us to use high mana monsters that has good stats. So you can use him as a pretty useful Damager in the backline;
- on fog of war ruleset.this ruleset don't allow snipe and sneak ability monsters to be used. Opportunity cards available in this ruleset in my opinion. this card will directly attak enemy's monster that has the lowest health and usually the lowest health is enemy buffer or debuffer .
- On explosive weaponry Ruleset. it is best to have a fast monster with opportunity ability in this ruleset this card will deal damage to enemy's lowest health monsters and will give another damage by the blast abilty he earned.
- Unprotected Ruleset, basically you need to focus on high health and attack monsters in this rule, deeplurker is very good choice to use in this ruleset.
When to Avoid using Deeplurker :
I don't recommend you to use this monster for this situation below:
- On a battle with very low mana to spend. Eventough this monster has 3 melee attack, but on a very low mana battle, you dont need a his attack its better to choose a tank instead, in water splinter its better having diemon shark or serpent of eld.
- it's just my opinion that maybe on melee mayhem and super sneak it's better to use monster that doesn't have opportunity ability cause the ooportunity will precedence the ruleset, having all monsters attacking one place is usually good.
