ASEAN Hive Relocates International Headquarters to Cambodia π’ (aka Family Reunification Complete)
Greetings ASEAN Hivers, I missed the last few days of Hivin' and curation, but for good reason. This family is finally reunited in Cambodia, but not after many twists and turns.
APOLOGIES FOR THE FIRST MAJOR LAPSE IN ASEAN HIVE CURATION AND POSTING
Β Β Β It wasn't without good reason though. As much as I planned ahead to somehow manage my Hive-sponsibilities along the long and twisted path back to Cambodia, things just didn't go as planned. My journey started off with me having to rent a car for four days and drive it super far from my hometown to rent a hotel for three nights so I could take the COVID PCR test and still manage to fly within 72 hours of receiving the results. This hiccup added $600 of unneeded extra costs to my journey.
Β Β Β I will eventually detail my journey back to Cambodia soon from my personal profile @justinparke, but for now I just wanted to say sorry for the lapse in @asean.hive activity. I just didn't have the internet, energy, or physical time the last 5 days to properly oversee this community, but it still seems you all kept things flowing smoothly.
Β Β Β The next 30-40 days we will probably be living a bit of a nomadic life until we re-establish a base camp here. We don't know where we'll go yet because Cambodia is kind of a blank slate for us at the moment. We'd like to explore some parts of the country we've never been too and perhaps rent an apartment in such places. So basically what I'm saying is that January is gonna be a big question mark, but once we have an apartment, bed, wi-fi, and a door to lock at night, ASEAN Hive Community is returning with rocket boosters ππ.
NORMAL CURATION RESUMES TOMORROW, BUT UNTIL THEN ENJOY THESE GEMS I FOUND
5% post beneficiary
@atma.love
ticket #30,012
Β Β Β Delegators are valued members of our community, so each @asean.hive curation post (other than the main weekly delegator raffle post) features a mini delegator raffle in the footer, with the winner receiving 5% post beneficiary.
Hurray! :^)
Suck it bureaucracy, you lose on this day βοΈ!!
Glad you finally reunited. Best of luck @justinparke and family. π
These two uneducated country bumpkins overcame international bureaucracy to be together again in the place we always wanted to be. It's amazing the 3-year ordeal we went through just get a silly A4 sheet of paper to prove that a nation-state acknowledges our love for each other.
For love everything is possible. π
You can really make things happen eventually with patience and trust it is worth it.
Hope this paper works will not be an issue if I plan on visiting somewhere else soon. π
That is amazing news, reunion again with the Kidsisters and Mommy. Happy family, may your plans be settle in time.
So good it is, still soaking it in. 10 people on my flight tested COVID positive, so that was a little unnerving wondering if I was going to be quarantined for 2 weeks solo.
Crazy times this days. Its fortunate you are safe and out.
Nice to see the family reunited! π
Happy New Year to you and your kin and take care. Looking forward to the new adventures you guys will go on π.
We can't wait for adventures, moving to a town we've never been in less than a week, so exciting. We'll be setting off with our suitcases in the back of our brand new tuk-tuk if things go well.
I've seen the post, but haven't had the time to catch up on reading. Hope I'll get to it a.s.a.p. Now busy doing comments π.
Its great finally your family reunited. I hope all of your family have a great time. You can do everything you want.
All the best
@johndieo
Step-by-step it's time to start slowly rebuilding our life, but we're happy to do it a part of the country we've never been where we have a real shot at buying a small piece of land.
take your time to settle down and clear things up for you.
I am happy that you can finally reunite again @justinparke
It was a very long journey you have to endure with your family.
Hive-on
Rest, rest, and more rest for now. The stress is still leaving my body, it feels so good to be back.
Yehh, the stories begin here ...πππππ
I think you should invested in a small land for building your property. I feel more secure after I invested my crypto asset a few years ago for a house. I can leave my house for renting or stay in the house. You will feel much more freedom. In Javanese philosophy the true properti is " Land and Water". So I invested in those assets.
We heard some good news that the outpost town near the area with lots of cheap-ish land for sale has some okay schools and affordable rental rooms. Adventures to look at land would only be 30 and 40-minute commutes, so we could spend a month or more if necessary scouting different nearby areas for potential. Even when we buy land we'll still need a place in the town with electricity, water, and wi-fi, until we have something to live in on the land and a way to keep earning HIVE and keeping this community going.
That is a great news but be careful when you buy a land. There are many cases in Indonesia of called " mafia land". They sell land with fake certificate. You should get help from a lawyer when you want to invest in land as the property.
Buying land is definitely something not to rush into here, and it can be done without a lawyer safely if one visits all the proper government places and gets all the relevant signatures, etc. It mostly depends on the size and value of the land as to whether or not a lawyer is worth bringing into the the situation. Honestly they are often more trouble than they are helpful in Cambodia, and you can't trust your lawyer here no matter how much you pay them.
Yey! Finally! Hope you will be able to find your place to stay with everything that your family need.
We don't know what the future holds, but we have decided on where we will start out with a simple $50 a month room. Since tourism is basically dead, there is no reason for us to be in overpriced tourist areas where we used to run a restaurant and teach Khmer to foreigners. It's now to the countryside for cheap land, fruit, and veggies.
Conratulations to the selected asean hiver . You guys rocks π. Keep rocking and cant wait for more from you all π
Good to know that you landed safely sir . Have some good rest and take your time to settle down first.
Thank you, it's good to be back. Also, thank you for your patience and understanding as we don't really have steady wi-fi and place to Hive easily yet.
Is ok sir. Anything takes time. So dont worry an be happy since you're already there .
Anxious times and also exciting times! Welcome back to Cambodia B.
What a rollercoaster ride, but you remained strong and supportive the whole time.
hi my dear friend, this is what i was waiting for, good news from you, if you have returned to cambodia, i am very happy to hear this news.
let go of your longing for your children, and your wife, or the family you love.. maybe the longing is already stored in the heart, pour out all the desires that stretch in the heart,, only you know how much you miss your beloved family, , rest in peace, breathe the new air in Cambodia, I will wait for the episodes that you promised first, maybe you already know what I mean hehehe...
temporarily rest in peace and comfort, breathe new air in Cambodia, may the days ahead always be pleasant...
I hope you are always healthy my best friend @justinpark..
Thank you for the encouraging words, it does feel as though I've won some kind of battle in coming back here and living the rather simple life we have fought so hard to reclaim. Our former life now seems exotic and exciting after three years longing for it, even though we have to find an apartment or any stable living yet.
So happy to hear this awesome news! Such a great start to the new year!
Absolutely on top of the world right now, never felt this good just "to be."
YEEEEYYY!!!! Finally! Congratulations guys. Im so happy that you guys reunited already! Take care as always!
It is like we have won the lottery, and yet being a family is something most families take for granted.
Welcome back to Asia. Your family must be happy to have you back!
We all missed Cambodia so much, and it feels so right to be back and reunited.
glad you came home meet beloved family I like the car you deposited on it. I had it many years ago. but had to let go because the family didn't like it π
Thank you, the suprise is that my "car" will be much smaller, but brand new and purchased from a John Deere tractor warehouse. Surprise coming soon...
My little car many years ago. It's my favorite car. Believe it or not, it's probably the same age as me. It is where parts from Japan are assembled into cars and it has been working in Thailand for over 30 years, but I had to sell it because my family didn't like it. I'm waiting for the opportunity to have money to buy it again. ππ
Love it, microcars are my favorite. I love the backseat modification, perfect for family transport.
You don't have to apologize. We were more than happy to keep the community flows as usual. It is great to see that you are able to reunite with your family. I can see the unspoken happiness shown from your face the moment u able to hug you family in the first picture ππππ
I can only wish the best for you and your family. May Feb 2022 be a new and a better start ππ
Thanks my man, it's so good to know that especially the core members of this community understand the circumstances at the moment. This morning a rough plan crystalized with @sreypov. We have chosen the "town" we will settle in after hearing it had an "international school" with an English education.
It's a pretty wild place still, so that's why I put town an international school in quotes, especially the term international school is used very loosely in Cambodia. It basically just means "English classes" or "K-12" curriculum in English in a best-case scenario.
So glad that you are finally reunited with your family there in Cambodia. It was definitely a long journey home but it's definitely worth it. Nothing beats being at home and sharing the love with people who matterπ€ Take care always!!
It's a good feeling, I can't give enough thanks.
Take care and enjoy! I hope you and your family are well and safe π€
