     I am not sure if I have ever done a challenge on this topic, but I do remember hosting a challenge about local village stores. Well, either way, if I've done village tours before or not, it's time to do it again. Get out and show me your village, whether in the middle of the rice fields or in a busy city center. Here in Cambodia even urban areas have village chiefs, although the importance of this position is not as much as it would be in the countryside.

     I also apologize for this late post because I have been sick the last 24 hours and also suffering panic attacks. It's a long story, but we came to the capital to solve my longterm visa/residency issues, with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs assuring us I could get a longterm visa. However, we've arrived to find out we were lied to, there is no visa for me but not after the ministry took a $70 tip and made get $150 worth of documents notarized at the US Embassy that are no longer needed. My family is likely going to be separated once again, and it is hard to control my rage and anger. Regardless of life circumstances, ASEAN Hive must go on, so I look forward to seeing your village tours.

     This challenge was quite educational, and I learned a lot of new ways of earning a side income. We ASEAN Hivers are a resourceful bunch, so I should've assumed our streams of side income would be very diverse and creative. Life in this part of the world is tough for many of us, and having a full-time job is often not enough to pay the bills. I love this week's theme challenge. Thank you @justinparke for having this exciting theme about side hustles. Having a side hustle nowadays is truly beneficial since the prices of all the commodities are rising having added income coming in for the family is truly a great help. When I read the post about this week's challenge I thought of what is our side hustle?, I call it "ours" because I am not the only one doing it but it's our whole family who are helping in, my son, my husband and myself.

In Filipino, we have an informal term called "Raket," which is the English equivalent of a sideline. We call a person who has many sidelines or is a pro when it comes to sidelines a "Raketera" (pertaining to a female or raketero if it’s a male), and I’m proud to say that I’m a certified Raketera. Being a single mom at a young age actually helped expose me to hustle culture. It’s not something that I would recommend, but life happens, and what we can do is move forward, learn from our mistakes, and be better.
