Silver Mamma Chef 's at it again

Silver Mamma Chef really tried hard to do her blog in time to post yesterday for {Hive Blog Posting Month] daily posting challenge hosted by the amazing @traciyork.

She was very pleasantly side tracked by opening her kitchen again in a very long time to some very special guests.

Unfortunately the blogging had to take second place for the moment with good intentions of doing it later.

Silver Mamma Chef is totally and utterly in her element.....actually she's on cloud nine...with joy and excitement; Angela and the boys are visiting from Cape Town.

For those who don't know, where the name"Silver Mamma Chef's Kitchen" comes from. It was born when Angela and the boys lived in Durban and Mom had to cook for them most days for awhile, the boys named granny "Mamma Chef" they would order their menu and pick it up from "Mamma Chef's Kitchen" later in the day.

Then in "Silver Bloggers," "Mamma Chef" became "Silver Mamma Chef"
She was devastated when Angela and the boys relocated to Cape Town, the West Coast of South Africa, then gave up cooking for awhile...Never the less..."Silver Mamma Chef is back and cooking up a storm.

The Special Guests
What a lovely surprise...well!...it was suppose to be, but someone let the cat out the bag a few weeks ago... Lol!
So, Silver Mamma Chef had to pretend she never knew... it was a bit difficult as she couldn't contain her joy of seeing them again, not really caring whether they knew she knew or not, all that mattered, was seeing them again.

The house has been turned upside down...dishes every where...smell of food cooking.
Omg!...Silver Mamma Chef hasn't stopped smiling since they've arrived.

Silver Mamma Chef's Kitchen is open again for a few weeks...Happiness is bliss!

She baked some bread to go with lunch which was devoured in no time.

Looking at the things lying around, Silver Mamma Chef smiled gleefully to herself and said..."My boys are back...the house has wonderfully come alive again".
"I can't wish for better days" she thought, wiping away a happy tear from her eye.

Even the dogs were so happy to see their play mates.

Silver Mamma Chef went about her business in the kitchen while her family relaxed with the dogs in front of the TV.
Then Pappa Chef decided to do a "beef potjie" with vegetables and rice.

Unfortunately... Mamma Chef was so excited catching up with her boys, and forgot the rice on the stove...Oh dear!....the pot was burnt to cinders.... what a catastrophe.

burnt rice.jpg
No worries, Silver Mamma Chef quickly cooked some more.

potjie.jpg
The "Potjie" is a South African traditional dish cooked on a wood fire for a couple of hours, enjoyed out doors by sitting around it and chatting while it cooks.
That's how Silver Mamma Chef got to burn the rice Lol!

Help yourself to a plate of lovely beef and vegetable stew cooked over the fire in a cast iron pot...in other words..."A beef and vegetable Potjie" from "Silver Mamma Chef's Kitchen"

It was delicious.

Dessert, "Dark and White chocolate layered cake for later, it didn't touch sides either. Silver Mamma Chef hadn't forgotten how hungry boys can get, so made sure that there'd be enough to fill those hungry tummies.
