Just Plain and Simple!

It's Friday and the sun is out...hooray!...blue skies and sunshine after the torrential rains and all the catastrophic drama the floods had coursed.

We decided it was a perfect day to let our hair down, relax and have a good old South African braai, putting all the chaos of the past few weeks behind us.

Well!...it was nothing fancy or planned in any way, just a spur of the moment thing.

Out came the cheap box wine...good old "Namaqua Land Dry Red", the only wine I drink, smooth as the mood I was in.

The past few weeks has been nothing but stress, anxiety and much drama in and around our house.

No more listening to the negative news or watching propaganda on You Tube, or the out come of Jonny Depp and Amber Heard's court case that seems to be on the lips of every person these days.

I just want to relax and enjoy the beautiful weather with hubby and the dogs.

I could've drunk the whole box of wine on my own...I mean...why not?...we're retired, no one to answer to. Lol!...forget all one's troubles and woes...Omg!...don't worry!....I know better than that, Hehe!
But I did have one or two glasses over my limit and thoroughly enjoyed it too.😊

The chicken and boerewors went on the fire and sizzled away while we drank our wine under the blue skies, reminiscing about old times.

It really was a beautiful day, only a few clouds in the sky, no sign of anymore rain.

I wasn't going to share this, but...couldn't help it, we had so much fun, listening to music and chatting.

I had to share a little part of our lives with my Silvery friends, something more positive after all the drama we've had...yes, we can have fun too...can't let life get us down forever, pick up the pieces and move on. Like my grandma use to say "A River flows forward, it doesn't flow backwards", so move on with your life. She was a wise old gal.

My fur children had to be included, sharing chicken giblets with Dad.

As one can see, no tablecloth, just plain and simple.

Braaied chicken and boerewors, avocado, baked potato with garlic butter, and tomato chili and onion sambals.

One cannot have a braai without "Mrs Balls Chutney", a little Tabasco sauce and Mayonnaise to add that extra flavor.

We toasted some bread on the grid, which I made a open sandwich just in honor of the old "sandwich contest" hosted by @mondoshawan.

It was lovely to just relax and enjoy a simple peaceful day, a good start to the weekend, don't you think?
