Louvre Museum Abu Dhabi

The fam had a chance to visit the Louvre Abu Dhabi after many years since it opened here in Abu Dhabi. My kids had particular fun at the Children's Museum there first and then we went on to proceed to the main gallery after that.

The gallery is divided into 12 galleries that show the chronological history of human creativity, from the first villages and civilization, to the modern times. There were a lot of interesting exhibits to see and a day is definitely not enough to explore everything, in my opinion.

With all the beautiful pieces on display and the perfect lighting at the galleries, the Shadow Hunters Communuty o course came to mind.

While there were many photos, I chose the below photographs from the Global Stage section, the 12th and final gallery in the museum for my entry to the Shadow Hunters Contest Round 230.

Untitled

This is my entry for this week's contest. I failed to really take more details of this work though, I remember reading that this is an untitled work of art.

It is an installation of different scrap materials from a bicycle wheel, a bucket, and a bunch of wires with lighting positioned at the floor. The light casted a beautiful shadow at the wall worthy to be shared with you all!

Food For Thought

This next piece, Food For Thought - Al Muallaquat (translated as "the hanging pots"), by artist Maha Malluh (b. 1959), turns aluminum pots with blackened bottoms into a wall installation and a visual poem. These pots were repeatedly used by Arab women to cook coat stew and along with these stories told during meals by the nomadic people.

It's been a while since I last joined the Shadow Hunters contest. We have not been out so much recently, hence my lack of interesting things to share.
