Recently, in a flower shop, I came across such an amazing cactus called MAMMILLARIA ELONGATA CRISTATA

I've never seen anything like it, and this cactus immediately caught my attention! It reminded me of a pile of peanuts in a pot)

The shop assistant could not provide any information about this cactus. He didn't even know when this cactus was watered for the last time ... But I immediately fell in love with this interesting species, and without hesitation bought it!

Arriving home, I searched for information about it for a very long time, since I also did not know the exact name (

The pot in which it was sold was too small and the cactus started drooping around the edges, so I carefully transplanted it into a larger pot ...

Almost a month has passed and my new friend is feeling great!
@ewkaw I ask you to give me some tips for caring for this cacus) And then on the Internet I found very little information, mostly online stores that just sell them ... (

And that's all for today! Thanks for being with me!
Take care of yourself and your loved ones and see you soon!

They look like brain to me too :D

You can probably look for care tips for a regular Mammilaria Elongata. They are super easy to grow!
If you are gonna keep it at home in winter, make sure she gets enough light and water very little and only when the soil is completely dry.
When it gets warmer you can probably keep it outside - cacti love fresh air, sun and rain (just don't keep them soaked all the time).

I can't wait to see yours bloom. I have a regular one, but those cristata forms can produce flowers along the edges which looks pretty cool :)

It is an interesting one, I think my grandma had a similar one. As ewkaw already said, during the winter keep it inside if you live in a cold part of the globe and just a little water.

Thanks! And in the summer, if it stands by an open window, is that okay? Otherwise, there is no way to take it outside ...

well, if not another way to keep it outside, then by an open window or just on another place with light. My mom takes them outside in spring and brings them inside in late autumn before the temperatures drop a lot. And her cacti are all fine and nice. My niece has some small cacti, but she keeps them always inside, during the whole year, and they are doing ok too. here they are.
