Photographic Encounter with Normandy's Peaceful Equids

Hello dear Hivers, I hope you're well ! Yesterday we were lucky enough to get to the countryside a little early. I have to say that it's been a long time since we've made such good use of our time... But I'll tell you all about the organisation next time !

This short walk is an extract from the much longer one we took that afternoon...

We were also spoilt for choice by the weather - it was a truly fine, cold day and we were travelling along a road lined with dense hedges. You can see from the reflection on the road that the area has not been short of rain in recent days !

Through certain gaps in the dense vegetation, a movement accompanied by a rustle makes me turn my head and discover this donkey watching me peacefully...

A little further on, these two particularly curious horses welcome us to the edge of their field.

DSC_0147.JPG

When I tried to give them a bit of grass, the one in the foreground blocked the other one and I found it hard to be fair...!

In other news, I've finally got my Sigma 17-70mm lens out again. I have to say that I'm very happy to be able to use this versatile lens again, which allows me to take both wide shots and close-ups.

But in the neighboring field, another curious creature is approaching...

DSC_0154.JPG

He's an old donkey, apparently very used to contact with humans.

Very quickly, and clearly intrigued by the presence of his friend with such a similar genome, the donkey is joined by a young horse, also curious...

But already, the ride must go on ! And it's almost with regret that we leave these two affectionate equines.

I hope you have enjoyed these images and I thank you for your visit, a very nice day to you all,

<3

i love the banding on the donkey, such a shame they are beasts of burden, but now he is living out his days just ambling about

God knows I can’t move close to this donkey
No matter how harmless an animal could be, I don’t move close to them
I usually admire them from afar but I’m always scared of them

Haha, I can understand 😅 Some may be quite agressive if they had bad moments with other humans !!
