Full Week in the Countryside - Spring is just around the corner
Hello everyone, I hope you're all well ! I'd promised you a little update on my latest activities, but unfortunately I still haven't found the time to do it.
Instead, we've made a lot of progress on our various projects at the country house. When you're dealing with something bigger than yourself, like Nature, you find yourself immersed in cycles and orders of magnitude greater than those you're used to. When the season arrives, you're either in or out.
Here, although the weather is still quite cold, we can already see the trees budding and we can feel the need to prepare the vegetable garden. It's going to be done, even if in the first year, we're still getting our bearings and we're mainly in a first round of observation !
Here's the house on one of the (rare) days when the weather was fine...
When I arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to find that all my cuttings of European fusain - Euonymus europaeus - had gone! They'll soon be going into the hedge I'm planning for our orchard.
On the other side, the camellia is in flower...
One of the plum trees is also almost completely in flower too...
We're still finding wood on our walks, even though I think those logs will end up as stools rather than in the wood-burning stove ^^ !
Above, in the garden, we're greeted by a carpet of primroses and snowdrops, which personally take me back to my childhood. I remember eating a lot of these flowers in salads as a child !
Finally, here's one of the reasons we've been in the country for so long: we've received a whole load of future plants for the garden. I'll give you a fuller list if you ask, as there are over sixty in this single box !
So much for the various activities of the moment, but rest assured that we haven't stopped there and many have already been planted :-)
I hope you've enjoyed this article and thank you for reading and visiting. Have a good weekend and take care,
<3

<3
