How PeakD Snaps Can Change the Hive Game?
I planned to use @commentrewarder for this post but I forgot to put it into beneficiaries. I don't think I can edit it right now since it's already published.
Yes, finally! PeakD snaps is here.
I know that this blog is a bit late but I just want to share my insights with regards the new updates on PeakD that can potentially help for onboarding.
I think many people was waiting for this update – and that includes me – it was really exciting to see this update because I feel that it turns Hive into a more Reddit and X like which makes it more interactive.
With Snaps, you can now share short form content and share a little update to your followers. I think this is a good idea to interact and share updates to your friends (although you are not sure if they are waiting for it).
I mostly use Snaps to post and share my ideas on Hive. The good thing is that you can post many snaps as you want, but make sure that you don’t spam people with links and anything unnecessary – there are no rules for this, but I feel that it should be a common sense not to lose your followers.
I even post my to-do lists on Snaps and update it from time to time whenever I finished my tasks. It gives me more motivation to complete my tasks in a fun way because ticking off the list is fun. At the end of the day, I use the re-snap feature to share my completed tasks.

while editing this, I realized that when you shared a Snaps link, it will not show a preview so I have to screenshot it to show. I think this is another suggestion for upcoming updates.
The transitions of the updates on PeakD snaps were quick. It was just one day, two days, and three days, then we have now more features that are useful for every user. I heard that the team will implement more features such as creating poll which I also find exciting.
Just like X, formerly Twitter, we can now run the community contest on Snaps. I am surprised that some communities are also not doing this but maybe most of them are still waiting for some updates that may be suitable for their contests (polls are surely one of them). I also think that some are still rooting for long-form posts and hoping to get more attention and visibility from their audience. I just hope that communities will soon to support Snaps when it comes to running their community contests.
hell yeah, while editing this, there's another update about Polls on Snaps and I should try it after publishing this.
But how it can potentially help Hive for onboarding?
People are now loving short-form content, so I think more people will be attracted into this. I think one of the reasons why people are leaving Hive is because of their overthinking when it comes to creating quality content which is their misconception.
With Snaps, people don’t have to think a lot. They can share their idea and start engaging with other users. They don’t have to thin about fancy formatting, more than 3 photos per blog posts, literally just their thoughts and ideas.
By this, I can see the potential of Hive onboarding with the help of promoting short-form content. I will gladly share some blog on my website mentioning Hive highlighting PeakD snaps and InLeo Threads. By promoting these blogs, we can onboard more users and get more eyes from outside the blockchain.
And that’s it! I hope you enjoy reading this post. Are you also using PeakD Snaps? What are the usual snaps that you are posting?
