Hive PH December Contest: Wishing These Things for This Holiday

Let's not be hypocrites.

But most of us are wishing for something when there's an upcoming event or occasion. It might be personal or materialistic things, but receiving a gift from someone is overwhelming.

Christmas is near. What are the things that you are planning to give? Or what are things that you are wishing to receive?

After weeks of inactivity, I came across the Hive PH monthly contest and found this topic interesting: #hiling.

What do you wish for this holiday? World peace ba talaga? Baka naman sports car, 'yung red?

I have several wishes for this coming holiday. And so I divided it into four different categories.

• Value
• Material
• Financial
• Personal

These wishes might not be only for holiday, but also a long term wish for myself and everyone…well, I guess?

Value

I'm not kind, but a soft-hearted person (wow). I just love giving something to people where I am comfortable.

But of course, it depends on what I can give to them. As long as it's something that I can give, I give it a try.

They said it's better to give than to receive. It means you are still fortunate enough despite tough situations.

I wish I could give something to someone to make them happy.

Material

Not a fan of being materialistic, but if you will ask me, I want to have this book: Show your work by Austin Kleon.

I have been wanting this book for a long time after watching a book recommendation by Ali Abdaal — one of my favorite YouTube Content Creators when it comes to productivity and online business.

This book cost ₱550.00 for 3 books and since our face-to-face classes started, I need to consider more things than this.

Financial

Muka akong pera. Well, who doesn't love money? They said “Money can't buy happiness” and “Money is the root of evil”, but just to remind you, even priests are getting paid (not religiously speaking). I believe that these thoughts are just limiting beliefs of people that keep them poor.

I want to have financial freedom for this holiday and of course, in the future. People might say that I'm kuripot and mahigpit sa pera, but when I'm doing it, it's because I have priorities and a budget to follow.

I can spend and libre my friends (conyo) if I want to.

For now, I'm focusing on investing and learning more about personal finance. I think we have to be financially literate to stay alive in this inflationary world.

Personal

I also have a personal wish.

And it is being consistent and to have more knowledge in academics, business, and writing (content marketing).

You see, my website should be gaining better attention right now as it is over 6-months old already but I only have 3 monthly organic traffic and 5 Domain Authority which is lower than others' statistics with the same age.

My inconsistency in writing makes my property suffer. I should be grinding and posting consistently to see the changes but not that persistent to do it.

Hence, I hope I will be more consistent this holiday.

I also want to expand my knowledge when it comes to academics. Next semester will be the start of full face-to-face classes and it will be a hustle for me as a student. This time will be more serious than a 2-day face-to-face class. And heck, engineering is tough pero need kayanin.

Nevertheless, these wishes will come through by making a move and action. I know that all of this will start on me.

I wish everyone a happy holiday. This is the last month of the year, I hope everyone achieved their goals for this year whatever it is.
