SONGS AND FRAGRANCE SPARKS MEMORIES

I was inspired to write about songs and fragrance this afternoon when @reineesmay talked about hers and I couldn't help but get where she was coming from, truthfully all I want to do right now is sleep 😂 but If I do I might not be able to feel as motivated as I am now to write on this particular topic.

I grew up in a home where we had a collection of songs and an endless list of perfumes (fragrance) as my dad was a sucker for smelling nice, he had an array of perfumes in his drawers always, before we came of age we were not allowed to used them though but we had the opportunity to listen to different genre of songs, this songs would later come to shape up the type of person that I am today, I could go on and on about the endless list of songs have heard in my lifetime but what I'll be sharing here on this platform are the songs that I heard true out my formative years and till this day whenever I hear them they still take me back to one particular memory or the other.

This was the song that I first learnt to sing, word for word and I can tell you to this day, I'm still very good at it

This was the song that I started to play when eventually I fell in love during my teen years

This was the song that mirrored all my emotions when I first had my first major heart break 💔 and trust that period I was a mess 😅

As I said earlier the list is endless, for most of my formative years there are some fragrance I just can't forget too, I can't dive in too deep but I'll be sure to mention those that stuck to me, I got so used to everyone's smells, my dad in particular was a sucker for perfumes and he changed them like no man's business 😂 but for everyone he used, it was for a specific period, thereafter he'd change it again, for the period where things weren't too rosy for us at home, I can still remember the particular spray he used to have on and the period when things got better we all could never get enough of "SMART COLLECTION PERFUME" for my perfume lovers there's no how y'all won't have heard or used this perfumes at one point in your life or you might still be using it because you just can never get enough of it, i mean from the bottled perfumes to the sprays 😌they all smell heavenly, I'm not doing an ad but I'm just a fan of good perfumes, let it not seem like I'm deviating, so for my last 3years in senior secondary school when we were finally allowed to start using perfume 😂 believe me when I say that I changed perfumes as easily as I changed clothes to the point that I still can't count the number of sprays have used in this life time, it's just so sad that I couldn't get to keep them all In one place, I would've loved to share it with you guys here in this platform.

To this day there are some songs I would hear and some perfume I'd get a whiff of and almost immediately my mind is transported back to a particular period in time, some of this memories sweet, and some of them sour but in all they're all memories that have shaped me into becoming the woman that i am today, up until now I'm still a sucker for good spray or perfumes so sorry I won't be able to share the names of all the perfumes but the one I mentioned earlier it's one have used and have stayed with me the longest.

Same thing applies to my tastes in songs, to the extent that I made a lot of friends during my university days due to my song playlist. In a way they both just stick with you in way that one can't even begin to explain
