The Fun Process Until I Can Harvest Mustard Greens

Once you understand the characteristics of the plants you plant, you will have fun things until the harvest.

The process of gardening is about how we learn about the character of the plants that we care for in our own spaces. We will get used to sharing pests that might attack and we will begin to understand what we need to overcome these problems.

I always believe, nothing will be difficult if we continue to study in the field we want to achieve. Because success together means people don't give up at the toughest points in their lives.

Likewise with growing vegetables. When I first started gardening half a year ago, I often felt down and even cried when I failed to take good care of my plants. But over time I was able to find fun. By continuing to learn and I feel like I have become friends with all of them.

In this post, I will share the moment of harvesting Mustard Greens after 30 days of being transferred to a larger planting medium. Currently, I really enjoy my time in my garden, sometimes I even forget that my skin feels like it's been burned by the sun because I've been in the garden until noon.

Well, before sharing about Mustard Greens that are ready to harvest, I will first share the process of sowing Mustard Greens. I have saved snapshots of the various phases of growing these Mustard Greens.

First, Mustard Greens need two weeks for their seedlings to become strong and ready to be transferred to a larger planting medium. This time, I used polybags because I will put them in front of the terrace.

I chose Mustard Greens seeds which had more leaves than the other seeds. Honestly, this seedling is already growing like crazy. LOL.

I use planting media which is a mixture of soil, husks, and manure. When they were first transplanted, they looked so cute! Don't forget to water them every two days, with a fine water sprayer to avoid the stems of the Mustard Greens breaking.

3 Days after transplanting they looked stronger than their first day. I think they have adapted well.

Time flies. 2 weeks after transplanting. They need to be mulched, as well as added fine manure to maximize the growth of the stems and leaves of Mustard Greens.

They look good after they are pruned and given fine manure. And in the next 2 weeks, they will be ready to be harvested, exactly 4 weeks after the planting period.

Let's harvest! Whoaaaa, I didn't expect that, even though these Mustard Greens are organic, their leaves are the same width as the non-organic Mustard Greens sold in the market.

Very grateful for the patience in me to continue learning new things. The more we learn, the more fun we will feel and it won't feel like a burden at all when problems arise. Do something with love, then the results will not disappoint. Even if it disappoints you later, it will definitely take you on a new path that will make you happy in the future. Happy gardening!

I love mustard greens. The distinct mild flavor is different from collard or turnip, although the bottom turnip portion of the turnip green is delicious and flavorful. I simply boil them in water, adding onions and bell peppers, salt, and black pepper.

Thanks for sharing your greens. Take care.

usually, here we just stir-fry mustard greens with onion and chili. adding a little sweet soy sauce will be great flavor too

Chili and sweet soy sauce. Now that sounds like a nice combination of flavors. I'll have to try that one day. Thanks for sharing.

They looks so healthy which means they got the right amount of care and nutrient.

Also, I agree that if we watch carefully, we could learn a lot from plants (and i say this from the little experience I have).

They look very healthy, and the fact that their leaves look the same with the non-organic in the market just indicate that they were taken care properly!

Congrats!

What do you want when that mustard green is so old? the seeds? I don't think it's good enough for the quality of the seeds to be used. Harvest soon! Mix with noodles :D
