Spicy Yellow Tofu With Eggplants
A simple but delicious dinner comfortable for spicy lovers.
You could say, for those who are used to eating chilies, it is a blessing for us. Why? Because chili can be a very helpful seasoning, simple ingredients into great side dishes.
But yeah, did you know, the price of chilies is almost $3 for 1 kg. It is quite expensive here. If it's cheap, chili is only around $2-$2.5. Approaching holidays or holidays, it even reaches $6. Even though it's expensive, people here will still buy chilies because chilies are like rice to us 😅
For dinner today, I have yellow tofu and an eggplant. That's enough for one meal for me and my husband.
The trick is to use green chilies and red chilies for this recipe. To create great taste in our taste buds. Also, the key is using red onion and garlic to make the beautiful and tasteful oil which affects the taste of the dish.
Did you know about yellow tofu before? In my area it is popular because the texture of yellow tofu is denser. Suitable for side dishes that use more stirring movements. Because yellow tofu won't break.
A popular side dish that uses Yellow Tofu ingredients is stir-fried spicy yellow tofu, with green chilies. So, I will share with you today.
Anyway, you can replace red chili and green chili with red bell pepper and green pepper. 😊
THE INGREDIENTS
- a block of yellow tofu or about 100 grams
- a purple eggplant
- enough green chili according to your taste preference
- enough red chili according to your taste preference
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 5 small cloves of red onion
- 1 stalk of spring onion
- 1/2 tsp of salt
- 1/2 tsp of sugar
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS
SERVING
I served Spicy Yellow Tofu with a little rice. You can see for yourself that on my plate there are more side dishes than rice because it's for dinner. Well, sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Sometimes I also serve this type of food with baked sweet potatoes for a light dinner
Hopefully you will have new inspiration from my simple recipe. Just simple but my family has always liked this recipe as an accompaniment to rice. Spicy! 😊
Thank you for reading my blog and reblog if you want my blog this time worthy of reading by others.

One of the most pleasant things about seeing your recipes is that they look wonderful and healthy (I am lacto-vegetarian) but in addition to all this, also have excellent photographic work on food during the process and the finished dish!... All excellent!

I have never seen yellow tofu before. You do have great quality of fresh spicy over there, your plate looks really yummy and I won’t mind entertaining my taste buds.
yes, I thought we could just familiar on Indonesia :)
What a colorful and colorful dish, it invites one to sit at the table, I love the ingredients you have used, and the colorful mezcal, very striking and exquisite
I'm sorry the price of chili is so expensive.
Thank you very much for sharing this creative dish.
Hello, as we are used to, your dishes are a temptation for the palate. I really like the spicy 🌶️ and we use it a lot at home. Cuba produces the habanero chile. There are more than 200 types. Very tasty to the palate. But at home we use a small very hot one that we pickle with vinegar and oil. It gives it a special flavor but you can only use a drop or two. Thank you very much for sharing. Have a nice week.🥰
so, you can create many side dishes, just simple but has rich flavor :) yummy
I wish you a nice Wednesday. And may you share with us those delicious dishes you know how to make.🍆🥬🥦🌰🥗🥰

Looks like a very good lunch. Good work, chef, sometimes a little flavor can make all the difference.
in Indonesia, people use a lot of spices and herbs, but Indian do more :P
We do not get yellow tofu here. I think I have seen it somewhere in my travels. Perhaps in Bali but I never bought it. Too bad. I wish I could know the taste. Your dish is very nice with those eggplants and chilies. I can't believe you can get a whole kilo of chilies for 3 dollars. We get a small handful for 3 or 4 dollars on average.
in fact, yellow tofu is perfectly firm. suitable for stir-fried dishes. but if just baking or frying, no problem with white tofu. but yeah I often feel mad because white tofu easily breaks :D
Haven't seen yellow tofu here yet... Just the fresh and dried ones..
hmm, dried ones (maybe fried for long time, so the tofu looks dried?)
I did not know the yellow tofu, well here in my country it is difficult to get any type of tofu, normally they are obtained in Chinese markets, your recipe looks interesting and I like that it has spicy, although I use it in very small doses.
Regards 💕🌹
Indonesia has many types of tofu. :)
regards, beautiful
Well, this is the first time I see yellow tofu. It's nice that it's firmer; I think that texture can do a lot for a vegan dish. Besides, the whole dish looks really appetizing ❤️
As always, the presentation is beautiful!
the texture can be suitable for stir-frying because can not easily break :)
WHHOOAAA, I wonder what would it taste like? I love your content especially when you told about the process how it should cook. Luckily, I was passed reading this part spicy lover because I'm also loves spicy foods. 😊
The , you should cook it if you wonder about the taste. 😊
Thank you for reading my post. ❤️
You're welcome. 😊
Another great recipe! Even though I'm not a fan of spicy food, this seems like a must try for my boyfriend lol
I thought red bell pepper and green bell pepper could be perfect replacers since the textures are also crunchy :)
Such things that a person makes inside the house bring a lot of happiness and are also very good for one's health.
:)
Looks delicious...i wanna give it a try 😃
thank you. you can cook the recipe with just tofu in general or another protein intake :)
One of my best veggies to eat is eggplant. I just read this recipe from you. And it seemed that I wanna try this tomorrow. Hope I can secure tofu, this is seldom sold in our market here.
This is so nutritious and delicious. Thank you for sharing your expertise.
No problem if you cant find tofu. You can also replace with something else. Or just eggplant itself, no problem 😊
I am not sure about the exact rate of chillies at my place but I guess it is between 1.5-2 $.
You shared a yummy recipe I would try to make and will share here if did.
sometimes chili here is also similar to the price in your area. the price is according to the atmosphere of the field and the season. rainy or dry.
let me know by mentioning me if you did it :)
