For us, spicy soupy food is the best to reduce flu. Oh, soo comfortable!

2024-08-07-02-42-23-372.jpg

Hi, flu day. I got it from my husband. Lol. Our noses feel filled with disgusting mucus. If only my throat and ears also suffer.

Usually, my husband will buy spicy fruits salad, really spicy. But for a couple days, my husband couldn't even go out of the house. So, he asked me to make something spicy.

I was looking for ideas for a while. Aha! How about tofu? We also don't have an appetite. So, tofu will help fill our stomachs to be more full.

In this recipe, I also use ginger which will warm our bodies even more. Besides, I also have our favorite vegetables in stock. Oh, this will be a great idea for us who have a cold.

  • 5 small cloves of red onion, sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt

COOKING INSTRUCTIONS

STEP 1

Prepare the tofu. Cut into pieces, I cut the tofu into dice. You can also cut the tofu into triangles. But make sure the tofu pieces are not too small so that the tofu does not fall apart.

Prepare the vegetables to be used. Here, I cut the broccoli and pak choy. For pak choy, cut them into only two pieces per leaf so that they do not fall apart or become too soft when added to the soup with the tofu and broccoli.

STEP 3

2024-08-07-03-16-11-414.jpg

Heat a little cooking oil, then add sliced garlic, sliced red onion, and ginger. Stir-fry over low heat so that they will form a delicious spice oil. Cook until they become fragrant.

STEP 4

2024-08-07-03-16-02-799.jpg

Add all seasoning (Salt, sugar, chili powder, sweet soy sauce), and cook briefly until caramelized.

At home we also like spicy food but I see that you like it very much, I didn't know it was good for the flu, I will take it into account.
And as for the soup, it really looks very comforting and appetizing!
Regards ❤️

It seems to be a very easy dish to make (especially because it has only a few ingredients). Plus, the "face" of this dish is so nice.

Always admiring tofu although I have never has a taste of it. I have been seeing them in several Chinese movies. Just wandering what tofu is actually made from.

Funny enough I have encountered 80 percent of the ingredient you used, I do not even know if most of them could be found here in Nigeria. Though spicy foods are normal here but I would have loved to have a taste of that particular delicacy

I'll bet the spiciness overshadowed the flu symptoms for a while to enable you both to get some rest. I like chicken noodle soup when I'm not feeling well or just have an upset stomach. The dish you prepared looks delicious. I must admit that I can't eat spicy foods like I did when younger.

Feel better soon the both of you. Take care.
