Enjoying Breakfast at Street Food Outlet
Today I woke up earlier than usual. So there are a lot of schedules that I haven't got to do yet. For a moment, I thought about what I could do this early.
How about shopping at the morning market? I thought it was a good idea. That's also a good reason because my stock of vegetables has run out.
I like to see a new atmosphere even though it's not a new place. I visit often. Some things change, even though the changes are small but I still like it.
This morning the streets were not too busy. I looked at the shop buildings. Also, the sky is worth looking at while we string our hopes.
Finally, after shopping and the sun was rising, I decided to find breakfast. The noodle menu is my the choice this time.
I chose a street food outlet that was visited by quite a lot of visitors. I'm not sure what the name of this small outlet is. But this breakfast seller hitchhiking at a cafe.
The outlet is so simple. There is also a simple stall featuring a variety of breakfast options.
There is savory rice available, rice cakes with mixed veggies in coconut milk sauce, and noodles.
Racing Noodles (Racing Noodles)
There is something unique about naming noodles. Popular “Mie Balap” from the cities of Binjai and Medan. “Balap” means “racing”. The name was created because the process of making racing noodles is made fast which is metaphorized as racing speed.
Mie Balap consists of two types of noodles mixed with eggs, which are served fried, without gravy. Filled with complementary vegetables and bean sprouts.
Consists of vermicelli and kwetiau noodles (rice flour noodles). Even though we have two types of noodles, we can choose only vermicelli, or just “kwetiau”.
For my order, I chose original racing noodles with two types of noodles inside. I also asked for additional egg cakes (mixed eggs with flour served in a fried way).
So, how about the taste? It tastes good, according to my taste buds. The most important thing for me is that it is very spicy!
Not just spicy chili, but indeed the original recipe uses pepper sauce which makes the sensation of eating more challenging. I like spicy!
In this place, fried snacks are also available, and scallop satay with special spices from the local area.
Free water is provided for drinks. In some places, we even have to pay additional bills for water.
I really enjoyed having breakfast at this place. A simple place but offers delicious taste at an affordable price.
I will come back to this place again, for a plate of authentic racing noodles. ❤️
