Pudding is my family's favorite dessert. The taste and texture are the easiest for my family members to accept, compared to other types of desserts such as cake.

How to cook with easy stages is also a distinct advantage for serving pudding. In addition, pudding can easily be combined with various ingredients to produce attractive colors.

So this time I will share a pudding recipe that uses AGAR POWDER and uses edible flowers. Edible flowers that are blue create beautiful color gradations. In addition, I also use coconut milk in the base mixture for the pudding for white color and also to create a creamier pudding taste.

So the blue and white colors will be mixed to create a pudding color that attracts the eye. That will make the eyes also satisfied, not just the tongue that is spoiled by this pudding.

Then, to create a nice shape, I used a swirl blade mold. Without a good mold, it is impossible for the pudding to look attractive.

With the attractive appearance of the pudding, it will add a sense of taste, even though the pudding itself is a simple dessert. So we have to present the pudding in a luxurious way, with a combination of colors and molds.

Before I share about the recipe, I will invite you to see how to harvest edible flowers that will be used to cook the pudding.

Have you ever made desserts from Blue pea flower ingredients? This time, I will use the beautiful Blue Pea Flowers! It is in abundance in my garden.

I was interested in involving blue pea flowers as ingredients for pudding because of the good color. In addition, also because it has health benefits for the body.

Harvesting Blue Pea Flowers

Sometimes called by the name "Butterfly Pea Flowers". These edible flowers are popularly enjoyed as herbal teas or used as a natural food coloring.

In my garden, Blue Pea Flowers plants thrive. Visible vines sticking out and spreading to the height of other trees. The interesting thing is that I let the Blue Pea Flowers seem to grow wild, it just makes it even more fertile. In contrast to when I actually took care of the plant, it was even more susceptible to pests.

My Blue Pea Flowers plant also has a lot of seeds to be used as seeds for the next seeding.

Seeds from Blue Pea Flowers, wait for them to dry to be used as seeds.

My neighbors also often ask for these Blue Pea Flowers to make tea. Blue Pea Flowers are believed to be able to prevent a rise in blood sugar.

Harvesting Blue Pea Flowers is a fun activity. I usually only harvest as needed because this flower wilts quickly. I also don't want to dry them out because they get moldy easily (in my experience because of the humid conditions where I live). So using fresh Blue Pea Flowers is the best choice.

I harvest only a little for the purposes of making pudding. Only about half a bowl. Oh, beautiful Blue Pea Flowers! Is not it?

Blue Pea Flowers can also be used to color rice during the cooking process to make it more attractive. Apart from that, making Blue Pea Milk or Latte is a great option that is worth trying.

Next time, I will also share with you the creation of drinks from blue pea ingredients.

I've got fresh Blue Pea Flowers from my garden. Next, let's process these flowers into a delicious and beautiful pudding.

The Ingredients

  • Half a bowl of Blue Pea Flowers
  • One package of Agar Powder or the equivalent of 6-7 grams of Agar Powder.
  • 700 ml of water
  • 200 ml of coconut milk
  • 120 grams of sugar

COOKING INSTRUCTIONS

Add sugar and agar powder, mix well. Then add water.

Step 2

Bring the mixture to a boil. This stage requires precision and patience. Do not forget to bring boil the water, because if agar powder does not boil completely, it will cause the pudding to fail to set completely.

After boiling, add coconut milk and stir well, bring to a simmer.

Step 4

Prepare the pudding molds. Then transfer half of the pudding to the mold. Why only transfer half of the pudding to the mould? This is to create a color gradation in the pudding because then natural dyes will be added.

Then carefully add it to the mold to which the white pudding was previously added.

Let cool to room temperature. Then store at least 3 hours before serving.

The Results

What a beautiful pudding! I didn't think the result would be this beautiful. The color combination of blue pea flowers and coconut milk blends perfectly.

AD004B32-1CD8-44E5-A912-4F3FA5F23A13.jpeg

Sweet, creamy and chewy. If you want a creamier texture, you can add more coconut milk.

My nieces enjoyed this pudding creation. They said it was their first time eating the blue pudding with its beautiful shape.

I love it when my nieces and nephews like my creations and they finish the pudding.

At the moment, I have no edible flowers, but I will have Daylilies before too long, and Iris, but I don't know if they are edible.
I will have to check to see what is available

Looks so yummy. I use the blue pea as tea for its anti-cancer properties (from what I read and from testimonies from my fellow Filipinos). Thank you for sharing the pudding recipe.

These are so pretty and they look delicious!

Ah, interesting, so the secret is to not just put so much attention to it? Will follow this advice. I've just started two in pots.
