A New Place, A New Adventurous
Hi, life. Thank you for the life that is still on today. Have you been grateful today? Today I explored a new place.
The funny thing is I went to a new place to find an escape because I couldn't work at home. My neighbors played music that made me sick. So, instead of getting emotional, I better avoid it and find a place that I can use as a place to work and get a new view. Thankfully, I can work from anywhere.
I found a cafe with the concept of an old country house that takes the concept of the Javanese tribe. The Javanese tribe is one of the many popular tribes in Indonesia.
I was coinciding with THE COFFEE SHOP PROMPT, this week, about caffeine drinks that tend to be ordered at coffee shops. Do I tend to order the same caffeine drink that I drink when I'm at home? Or, will I choose an adventurous menu?
Actually, the answer to that question depends on the condition of the place I visit. If the place I visit has a menu that I have never drunk before, then I will order a caffeine drink that I have never drunk.
For the first visit to a new place, I always like the adventurous menu. Then, when I visit the same place again, I usually order the menu that I like, mostly the same menu.
For me, coffee or other types of caffeinated drinks that I can make at home tend to be ordinary, such as manual brew black coffee, or just hot chocolate or hot matcha latte. So, when I go to find a new place to drink caffeinated drinks, it is my chance to explore a new menu.
Of course, in coffee shops or cafes, they usually have better quality ingredients. That makes me learn about new flavors. Taste experience is very important for me to be able to make various new cooking menus and drink menus for my family at home.
On this occasion, I will invite you to see a comfortable, cool place. Just like a rural yard filled with shady trees. Also, visitors should not miss the fish pond, which makes them feel calm.
I really enjoyed playing for a while in the area near the fish pond. Before I work later. While I was waiting for my drink to come, I went around the corner of this place.
It felt like I was in the corner of my own yard, which was cool, and shady, and made my mind not think about any problems. Let it flow with the water and fresh air.
Then, let's see a caffeinated drink menu that amazed me. It's called KOPI CENDOL. Kopi means coffee, and Cendol means Indonesian traditional iced desserts made from pandan leaf flavor served with coconut milk and brown sugar.
I was curious about what the combination of the two would be like. Since I'm not a fan of sweet drinks and iced drinks. I was excited to try the combination of coffee and sweet iced dessert.
We can see the beautiful color of this coffee drink menu. At the bottom, there is a layer of darker brown sugar. While in the middle and top of this drink is a combination of coffee and milk.
I'm not sure if they also added coconut milk which is usually used as a "cendol dessert ingredient". But I can't taste the savory coconut milk in this drink. So, this coffee drink tastes strongly of coffee and brown sugar.
For the filling of the drink, we can see this is what "cendol" looks like. It looks like a green droplet shape, made from mung bean flour, or rice flour.
It tastes savory, and is indeed suitable to be combined with coconut milk and brown sugar. Since in this drink, coconut milk is absent and replaced with coffee, it's a bit strange. However, because I'm used to drinking coffee with brown sugar as a sweetener, I feel this is a combination worth trying. Although it was strange at first, it gradually felt comfortable on my tongue.
I enjoyed a new variation of coffee with a traditional dessert menu by the pool. Under the shade of the trees. This is a fun experience when you find a new place and it doesn't make you regret at all for taking the time to explore a new place.

It takes courage to try new flavors because our money is at stake :)

That is a strange drink indeed with the addition of the dessert. I tend to not be as adventurous when I visit a new place, instead sticking to the safe coffee blend I use at home. I've never been one to drink iced coffee. It has to be hot, black, with a bit of vanilla cream flavoring. Boring, I know. My daughters laugh and tell me I should branch out, but I'm a senior citizen and stuck in my ways.
I love restaurants that have fish ponds or aquariums. They are mostly seafood restaurants. The place you visited looks so serene. I can see how one can work undisturbed. It's good you're able to work in any location away from home as long as you have your laptop and phone.

I really liked the fish pond and the plants, it really is a very relaxing place to find peace of mind. I had never seen the coffee you showed us and especially with the Cedol, I liked knowing about this coffee that you introduced to us.
