International Girl Child Day: Invest in Girls' Rights (Our Leadership, Our well-being)
The 2023 International Girl Child Day has come and gone but the topic of discourse for this year celebration is an important call for everyone in the world, especially women who should from every angle of their endeavours support the protection of the rights of the girl child.
Every year, on October !!, the International Day for the Girl child is marked to remind the whole world of the place of girls in development, peace and tranquility in the global community. The UNICEF airmaked this year to mentor glrs on the need to discover their right and how they could marshal strength in protecting themselves to avoid people from stampeding their fundamental human rights.
In 1995, the National Human Right Commission promulgated some amendment for judicial recognition, promotion and protection and enforcement of human right. The commission worked for the advancement of gender equality and women's empowerment.
To this end, it is important to reiterate the fact that women need to be granted the same opportunities like their male counterpart in every sphere of life. From government to leadership positions.
This year, i joined other ladies to celebrate and educate the younger generation of girls on the need to unleash their in-built potentials. In the video attached to this publication, the activities for the day is outlined. There were about a hundred girls who were involved in the discussant.
Let's join hands together to support the coming generation of women who will save our world from collapse.
