Good Food, Great Ambience - Keepsakes Restaurant
One of the few restaurants I went to way back when I was in college was Keepsakes. At the time, the price was too expensive for me to buy since I was only a poor witol college student. But now that I have access to adult money, my hard earned money, I can finally go to that damned restaurant whenever I please.
But when the pandemic came, their branch in Sta. Ana Avenue, Davao City was closed. It was there that me and my classmates went to before to eat. (or should I say, they invited me to eat and I let them pay for it. Lol)
It was kinda sad but there was nothing we customers could ever do. I'll forever miss the taste of their Chicken and White Sauce meal and their scrumptious desserts.
The Plan
Last week, me and my friend (well let's name her RonRon. LOL), decided to meet up to have some fun since were both stressed out and heartbroken beeches, but of course we hoes need to fill our stomachs first. She told me that we'll eat at Keepsakes in Mayon St. Me, being the oblivious egghead that I am, I was shocked to know that they have a branch there. Since the only branch I knew was the branch I ate before in college, in Sta. Ana and another one in MTS Matina. So without further ado, we travelled there together like fcking kids on their way to a playground.
The Interior
This is their entrance. (obviously) Even before you enter the establishment, you can already see the bright ✨aesthetic✨ ambiance of Keepsakes. They also have a ramp for those who are in a wheelchair and wants to eat here.
I wasn't able to photograph the front view of their counter since I forgot about it and we were too hungry too so we ordered right away.
And that's RonRon, the damn photobombeeeerrr.
The picture on the right is a secluded room inside the restaurant. I think it was meant for customers who wanted to conduct meetings or events in Keepsakes. But when I read the sign it says that it was for their staff only. I don't know why but, maybe they just chose to give the room to their staff instead.
We sat a bit nearer to the counter. The weather was hot and we were sweating af, so we decided to sat near their AC.
This is my POV on my left side when we finally sat on our table.
And this one is my front POV. As you can see from the picture, we sat on a table where their couch is located. So my butt is calm and safe and my back is being protected with soft squishy blue pillows.
Most of the restaurant's customers are students. It is where they can eat and study at the same time minus a bit of the stress due to the calm ambience the restaurant's interior emits.
On the left is our table's top POV. If you click the picture, they got a lot of I think magnets of all sorts? I think they just gathered whatever magnets they could find and just pasted it there. It worked though! It looked ✨aesthetic✨.
The right picture though are different shapes of frames. And notice that their lights are inside bird cages! 😁
Speaking of lightsssss:
They also have light bulbs inside lanterns. I think they're lanterns or something. They are just above on where we were sitting. It was pretty to look at and the square designs reminded me of traditional Japanese homes.
Aside from their normal chair and couch, they also have bar chairs where, if you go solo and want to be a little bit secluded from the other customers inside the restaurant, you can sit your pretty ass here. (don't ask me why they placed that table and those chairs right infront of their back door because I don't know shit.)
Aaaaand here is RonRon!
Well yeah it's ✨aesthetic✨, but is the food good? 🤷♀
Bitch ya know damn well it is! Here were our orders at that time:
For Ronny
She ordered Buffalo Wings and Chicken Pesto Salad. Since she has something of a heart condition, which she has just recovered from her surgery last March, her diet should consist of vegetables, no softdrinks or instant juices like pineapple juice in a can and mostly just fish. She was not allowed to eat fried and oily foods but she told me that she can eat chicken but only the meat part. She'll disregard the skin.
For Moi
I ordered Dory Melt. It is Cream Dory that was deep fried to crispy perfection and was swirled with a sauce... which I think tasted like pesto or something? I don't know. I just know that the sauce tasted like some herbs. I love eating Cream Dory recipes because their meat is oh so tender! It tastes so good when it is cooked as a fillet and is dipped in tartar sauce. 😋
All in all, their food tasted good and we were totally satisfied and full! If you want to check out their whole menu, click this link and go check out their homepage as well in Facebook.
Another ✨aesthetic✨ part of the restaurant:
The Toilet Room
Of course, after a good meal, my ass was begging me to release the bomb. The toilet room was just a few inches away from our table, so I went there but had to wait for a few minutes because there was still someone occupying it.
When I first saw it, it was so cute! Now I understood why their interior looked like that. The restaurant's theme was a vacation to the Beach! You can see cute little paintings of blue stars from the right and on the left are cute wooden signages about being on the beach.
The left door is the toilet room for men and the right one was for women.
Well ain't that cute. It's like a child drew those cute slippers, those stars and cute little seashells!
Here is a close-up of those wooden signages I was talking about. ✨Aesthetic✨ check.
Now let's look what the women's toilet room looked like.
(PS. Of course I wasn't able to photograph what the men's toilet room looked like cause duh, I can't get in. LOL)
Just right above the toilet bowl are these pots, bottles and whatknots. It also has a little wooden portrait beside it.
And as you sit yo ass down the toilet bowl, this is what you see. A hand painted mural of the sea with cute little stars and little seashells on the bottom and an odd white coconut tree on the left.
Well at least you can take your shit peacefully because of the cute designs.
I think this was the inside of the women's toilet room's door. Not entirely sure though.
And after mother nature released its unfortunate waste outside of my body, I did an obligatory selfie.
Here is a close-up of their ✨aesthetic✨ stuff.
(I'm wearing my workplace's uniform. It sucks. It was ugly af. But I didn't have any choiiiiiceeeee) But at least they have cute decorations on their mirror wall.
And as all other days, everything must always come to an end. We went home after our scrumptious meal and surprisingly good talk. It was a great experience to go here again and taste the food my college self have longed missed.
Aside from the good food you get to eat, you also get to experience tranquility from the beautiful interiors the restaurant built. If you could go here, hit me up! Let's enjoy good food and awesome ambience together :)

this place looks perfect to chill with friends and family! 😃 surprised to see it's actually much larger on the inside as the frontal outside view looks like a square, truly can't judge an establishment by their exteriors 😁 thanks for sharing about the wonderful time you had here!
