Technology versus knowledge...
Yesterday, Matthew -my seven-year-old son-, came home from school asking me for a mobile phone because all the kids at school had one. My answer, obvious, you're not old enough to have a mobile phone, should we please our children and go with the flow of society that surrounds us, my answer is emphatically NO.
THE UNIVERSE
A CHILD NEEDS TO:
Develop their creativity. We understand that handling a mobile phone is important, but for other stages of life. Developing and expanding your mind is vital.
Learn to discuss face to face, not hide behind an emoticon. Today's children are being isolated, they no longer socialise, but through social networks -how social are “Social Networks”-. Sad or happy faces, where are the real emotions?
They must learn to play in nature, not become robots glued to a key.
A child needs physical activity, sitting-kicking, the only thing that exercises is the finger… Children's hands, today, are developing long fingers. Any resemblance to extraterrestrials is pure coincidence…
The language of mobiles -tata, xD, xG, xoxo, k, …- has corrupted the language. Today we use a third of the vocabulary that was spoken a hundred years ago.

Fully agree. None of my kids got an own mobile before 10y.
@amigoponc
Lowered heads stuck in the screen is an uncertain future, the great knowledge in hand but at what cost. An excellent theme. Much success, thanks for the mention. @amigoponc

Exactly. Those gadgets need to be given to them when they're older. Much better to have them play console games imho.
