Un saludo amistoso queridos Hivers, me da mucho gusto estar con ustedes una nueva semana en open mic, sin duda una de mis comunidades favoritas. La temática esta vez es “Pasión por el Arte” y me por ello les he traído una sencilla interpretación de una canción que es una joya en la música y el sentir latinoamericano. Se trata de “Si se calla el cantor” una composición del artista argentino Horacio Guarany y publicada en el año 1972.

Creo que en ningún otro momento se expresa mejor la pasión por el arte, que cuando se alza frente a la censura. En la historia de la humanidad los regímenes más crueles y opresivos han querido callar a los artistas y desaparecer su obra, porque saben que solo a través del arte los seres humanos alcanzamos nuestra expresión más plena y sensible. “Si se calla el cantor” es una canción que se refiere a esos años de oscuridad en Argentina, cuando las dictaduras militares se encargaron de exiliar, asesinar y callar a tantos artistas; aun así muchos prefirieron morir o poner en riesgo su vida antes de arrodillar su obra, antes de guardar silencio ante las injusticias. En mi opinión, no hay mayor pasión por el arte que esta, una pasión que en las peores adversidades nos permite creer en el poder transformador que esconde cada obra artística.

El arte es un producto o resultado del quehacer cultural, por ello en el sobrevive la memoria de la humanidad. A pesar de que esta hermosa pieza habla del cantor y la música, sin duda su mensaje maravilloso se extiende a todas las expresiones del arte. Por eso a pesar de que los ruines de la historia han quemado libros, cuadros y censurado obras de teatro y canciones, los seres humanos seguimos creando.

Esta interpretación es un humilde regalo para todos los que cada semana se expresan y construyen este tejido musical que sin duda pasara a la historia. Espero les guste, un abrazo.

A friendly greeting dear Hivers, it gives me great pleasure to be with you a new week in open mic, undoubtedly one of my favorite communities. The theme this time is "Passion for Art" and I have brought you a simple interpretation of a song that is a jewel in the music and the Latin American feeling. It is "Si se calla el cantor", a composition of the Argentine artist Horacio Guarany, published in 1972.

I believe that at no other time is the passion for art better expressed than when it stands up to censorship. In the history of humanity, the cruelest and most oppressive regimes have wanted to silence artists and disappear their work, because they know that only through art do we human beings reach our fullest and most sensitive expression. "Si se calla el cantor" is a song that refers to those years of darkness in Argentina, when the military dictatorships were in charge of exiling, murdering and silencing so many artists; even so many preferred to die or put their lives at risk before kneeling their work, before keeping silent in the face of injustice. In my opinion, there is no greater passion for art than this, a passion that in the worst adversities allows us to believe in the transforming power hidden in each work of art.

Art is a product or result of cultural endeavor, that is why the memory of humanity survives in it. Although this beautiful piece speaks of the singer and music, without a doubt its wonderful message extends to all expressions of art. That is why even though the ruthless of history have burned books, paintings and censored plays and songs, human beings continue to create.

This interpretation is a humble gift to all those who every week express themselves and build this musical fabric that will undoubtedly go down in history. I hope you like it, a hug.
