Total Annihilation At The Silver Leagues | Splinterlannds X Social Media Challenge
Hello, splinter-warriors. I hope you all are doing well.
Today, I will share a battle from the Wild Leagues where I dominated my opposition thanks to a key monster in my arsenal.
Without further ado, let's begin!
Battle Conditions
The mana cap is 31 and there are 2 summoners to choose from: Fire and Dragon.
Battle Rules:-
- Stampede: Trample can trigger multiple times if the trampled unit is destroyed.
None of the summoners available were my go-to summoners, so I decided to go with the fire summoner since it gives better buffs than the other. Keeping the mana cap in mind, I went with a combination of tank and magic attacker.
Battle Details
Let's start from my side:
Summoner: Mantaroth(Ability: Armoured Strike, Shield).
Non Attackers: Scavo Hireling(Ability: Repair), Chaos Agent(Abiliy: Dodge).
Magic Attackers: Moxian Rebel(Ability: Weapons Training), Ifrit Rising(Ability: Recharge).
My strategy was to hold off the enemy team with my tank while my repairman would refill the lost shield of my tank all while my magic attackers would chip away at his tank, slowly. To boost the magic damage, I decided to use a monster with the recharge ability, and that monster would do 3x the base damage. That way, my deck was set.
My overall damage per round is 9 every odd-numbered round. In the even-numbered round, it comes to 15 damage per round.
Now for the opposition's turn:
Summoner: Helios Matriarch(Ability: Increase in Speed for all ally monsters)(Ability to have 1 Gladiator monster in the deck).
Tank: Krash Wanderford(Ability: Speed, Bloodlust).
Melee Attacker: Ferexian Hero(Ability: Weapon Training, Reach).
Ranged Attacker: Firecaller(Ability: Martyr).
Non-Attackers: Iidri Fyre*(Ability: Taunt, Redemption), Creeping Ooze(Ability: Slow).
Blocked Melee Attacker: Radiated Scorcher(Ability: Shatter).
His strategy was to create a difference in speed and do his attacks earlier. He directed all the incoming damage toward one of his monsters while the others were free to attack according to their traits. He used a blocked melee attacker at the back of his deck to act as a shield should his taunt attacker fall afterward.
His overall damage per round is 9 with no heal.
Major Events
The first monster to fall at the first quarter of the round was his non-attacker with the taunt ability in the first round.
At the end of the round, the second monster to fall was his bloodthirsty monster.
At the end of the round, his minotaur fell giving me a clear advantage with the numbers.
At the start of the round, his Firecaller called its last fire and thus it turned into a 2 v 5 with me still at zero casualty.
After half the round had passed, his Ooze fell leaving his only blocked melee attacker as an active melee attacker.
Finally, at the end of the round, his final melee attacker fell without getting the chance to attack.
Results
I was unsure if my strategy of repairing the shield would work since my opposition could've used a magic deck and easily annihilated me. That little detail haunted me until I saw his deck full of melee attackers. Thus, my strategy was on the pot once again.
