The Great Equalizer ~ Social Media Challenge | Splinterlands
Hello, splinter-warriors. I hope you are doing well today.
Today, I will be sharing with you guys a battle worthy of sharing in this community among the other amazing battles shared by the members.
Without further ado, let's begin.
Battle Conditons
The mana cap was 33 and there were 3 summoners to choose from: Fire, Death, and Dragon. This mana was enough to make a good deck for both Death and Fire classes. I went with Death Summoner of course and so did my opposition in a turn of twisted fate.
Battle Link:
- Equalizer: The initial health of all Monsters is equal to that of the Monster on either team with the highest base Health.
Battle Details
Let's start from my side:
Summoner: Thaddius Brood(Ability: Decrease in HP and magic ability of all enemy monsters by 1).(Level 5)
Tank: Dumacke Orc(Ability: Shield).
Magic Attackers: Life Sapper(Ability: Life Leech), Kain Hace(Ability: Blast, Reflection Shield).
Non-Attackers: Ahna-Chei Botanist(Ability: Return Fire), Scavo Hireling(Ability: Repair).
Ranged Attackers: Zyriel(Ability: Weapon Training, Life Leech, Divine Shield).
My strategy was to use monsters with the lowest HP that would also give out the highest damage. That way, I chose Dumacke Orc, and every other monster. My Orc would reduce incoming damage while my leechers would continue to drain HP. My Zyriel would allow the non-attackers to have a high damage. My Scavo Hireling would have the ability to do damage and repair the tank's shield. I chose Kain Hace as it had the highest damage output from all my monsters with low HP.
My overall damage per round is 12. Adding in the damage from blast and weapon training, it increases to 20 per round.
Now, the opposition's turn:
Summoner: Thaddius Brood(Ability: Decrease in HP and magic ability of all enemy monsters by 1).(Level 2)
Tank: Cursed Windeku(Ability: Thorns).
Melee Attackers: Silent Sha-vi(Ability: Sneak).
Ranged Attackers: Ravenhood Warden(Ability: Protect), Zyriel(Ability: Weapon Training, Life Leech).
Non-Attackers: Riftwing(Ability: Flying, Scavenger), Ahna-Chei Botanist(Ability: Return Fire).
His strategy was to increase all of his monsters' HP to its highest point. He chose to armor up all of his monsters with the Warden and used both the non-attackers with Zyriel as I did. His Sha-vi was placed directly behind his tank as he wanted to protect it from enemy monsters with sneak ability.
The damage output per round is 9. Adding in the damage from thorns and weapon training, it totals 17 per round.
Major Events
My overall damage per round was decreased by 3 and so both the parties were doing 17 damage per round.
The first to fall was his tank, fortunately.
The next to fall was his Sha-vi. The final blow was struck by my Zyriel.
My Orc kicked the bucket by the end of this round.
The next to fall was his Ravenhood Warden. That way it turned to a 5 v 2 since one of his monsters (Riftwing) was in the tank's position and so it was back to a non-attacker.
My monsters finally beat his Riftwing but it came with a price of 10 HP off my Life Sapper.
My Life Sapper kicked the bucket at the end of the round and so it turned into a 4 v 1.
Later, Zyriel kicked the bucket and it left only 1 survivor in his deck as it prepared itself to be a punching bag for my monsters.
And finally, the battle ends with me having lost only 2 monsters.
Results
This was anyone's game. Since both the parties had the same damage per round with him having the Riftwing the game could've gone his way if not for the uneven damage distribution. My team focused damage on the tank's position while he used a monster that went for my backlines. That way, the overall damage was decreased and he lost.
