The Expensive Bash In The Wild Leagues ~ Splinterlands X Social Media Challenge
Hello, splinter-folks. I hope you all are well.
Today, I present you guys a battle that lobbies giants among monsters, that attack with ferocity and in an unexpected way.
Without further ado, let's begin!
Battle Conditions
The mana cap is 99 and there are 4 summoners to choose from: Nature, Life, Death, and Dragon.
Battle Rules:-
- Super Sneak- All melee monsters have the sneak ability.
Keeping the mana count, available summoners, and battle rules in mind, I chose to use a summoner that has a variety of monsters in his arsenal with huge debuffs.
Battle Details
Let's start from my side:
Summoner: Thaddius Brood(Ability: Decrease in HP and Magic damage by 1 for all enemy monsters)(Level 5)
Tank: Mantaroth(Ability: Armoured strike, Shield).
Melee attackers: Cursed Windeku(Ability: Thorns, Heal), Undead Rex(No Ability), Dinintegrater(Ability: Demoralize, Trample), Harklaw(Ability: Shield, Immunity, Demoralize).
Ranged Attacker: Dhampir Stalker(Ability: True Strike, Deathblow).
My strategy was to use all the high-damage-dealing monsters with high mana and use 2 monsters that would lower the incoming melee damage by 1. And, use a monster with shield ability at the end of my deck, that way, my deck is secured and would survive for longer rounds. However, I suspected a few misses from my monsters, therefore, I used Stalker at the back as an assurance. It would deliver a guaranteed damage of 4 per round.
My overall damage per round is 22 and 3 healing. Adding the damage from thorns, it comes to 24 per round.
Now for the opposition:
Summoner: Quix The Devious(Ability: Decrease in Speed and ranged damage for all enemy units)
Tank: Legionnaire Alvar(Ability: Shield Armour).
Melee Attackers: Carnage Titan(Ability: Double Strike, Reach), Desert Dragon(Ability: Trample), Drybone Raider(Ability: Double Strike, Shatter), Dinintegrater(Ability: Demoralize), Harklaw(Ability: Shield, Immunity).
His strategy was to overload and overwhelm my units with high melee damage and decrease the incoming damage by 1 by all incoming melee attackers. He also put a shielded monster at the back of his deck, that way, penetrating from the back would be difficult. Moreover, he did not use any healing monster or any healing ability-possessing monster, meaning, he double-downed on his damage dealers to confirm the victory.
His overall damage per round is 22 per round.
Major Events
The first unit to fall was his tank well into the second round. Both sides had their damage reduced but his overall damage was 4 per round while my overall damage was 11 per round.
In the first third, my Harklaw was defeated while his one was there inches away from death.
In the final third of the round, his Harklaw fell thus the game was a 4 v 4 with his overall damage being 12 and mine being 8.
Sadly, my Disintegrater fell after half the round passed, so his overall damage was restored to max(16) while mine remained at 8.
At the end of the round, his tank fell making it a 3 v 3.
In the first half, my Undead Rex was finally dead while his Disintegrater was inches away from death.
In the first half, my Windeku was dead thanks to his Raider but his overall HP was at rock bottom.
At the end of the round, his Desert Dragon fell leaving his over attacker with 1 HP with my shielded tank.
At the end of the round, his only monster fell.
Results
His only drawback was that he bet everything on his damage and kept nothing for healing. Fortunately, he did not miss any attacks too while my attackers did. That way, with a small healing advantage, I had an edge. Additionally, his overall damage was reduced twice in the first few rounds as I used 2 monsters that reduced overall melee damage. So, after clearing a few of his monsters his real damage came out late into the game. Thus he lost.
