[Let's Play] God Of War Ragnarok | Difficulty: Give Me God Of War | Traversing Svartalfheim Once Again But Time With The Help Of Bifrost Eyes
Hello, gamers of Hive. I hope you all are doing well.
Today, I will share the journey of Kratos and Atreus across Midgard after Odin and Thor visited them.
While Thor and Kratos nearly took each other's heads off, Odin invited Atreus to Asgard. To find out why, Kratos set out on a journey with his son to a shrine made by the giants, where he saw a glimpse of the realm's future, Ragnarok! There, Atreus found Tyr leading the army of Giants into Asgard. After seeing the proof, they set for home and pondered their next best step.
Atreus guided Kratos back home where Sindri was waiting for them. As they pondered on how to travel the realms, Sindri got them to a new secured location and turned it into their base of operations. This realm was known as a realm between realms, a nifty place where Odin could not pry.
Inside the place had a lot of rooms and a forge that would be used by the father and son duo for equipment upgrades. Sindri pointed out that they would need a way to find Tyr from a mine in Svartalfheim when we got under Kratos's attention for risking Atreus's life on the secret journeys they made.
A new Codex was written in the journal and I had to look it up. After their history with Baldur, I wanted to see what they thought of Brok and Sindri in this new installment. As plain as water, Kratos explained his position with Brok.
Fortunately, I got a great armour somehow for both Kratos and Atreus that increased his HP and Rage meter after defeating an enemy. It's an awesome addition to this hellish difficulty I am playing on.
Before they set out for Svartalfheim, they had a little chat about their contact in the realm; their cousin Durlin was one of the many who hated Odin for his deeds and would help them find Tyr should they catch him in time. This is where they learn that their cousin and Faye are a rebel faction against Odin.
The most important bit. To cross the realm, they needed the Bifrost eyes of Mimir, which they did not mention to him, and strapped him onto a newly crafted device that let out a shiny light aimed directly toward Mimir. Once Mimir absorbed the light in his eyes, all he needed to do was look at the door and a path to Svartalfheim was open. The dwarf twins needed to hammer the door a bit to not let the door get destroyed.
The place where they entered the realm had a few enemies waiting for them on the beach. These were annoying but easy to kill. Of course, this area was full of puzzles and had enemies on just about all the accessible islands. And, on the river, there were items required for crafting which was a major bonus.
I visited 4 such small islands and tried to fully complete them but I saw a few puzzles that I think I need to progress further to unlock or that I just cannot understand how to complete it. I was sure to die a few times before I got used to the enemies of the realm.
And on the last island, I finally found a chest that increased my overall rage meter slightly. Regardless, I take it as a huge gain since this rage meter is what'll save me from choke points and tight spots.
Finally, I found a note about Durlin before heading back into the open waters. Dulin's message was to warn us about the dangers ahead as it did lead them in the right direction.
And, that is it for today's post. I believe this area has a lot of undiscovered secrets and I definitely need to grind more before completing it to 100%. My friends told me that there were no Valkyries to fight in this realm but there are elements that are just as powerful as them if not more. I don't think they will be that difficult though... I hope.
Next Stop, Nidavellir!

This God of war adapted to the Nordic mythology is interesting. You have kratos well equipped. Greetings
Good thing there are no Valkyries in this part. They are the real challenge and I wonder how challenging they are in this difficulty setting. Have you encountered any yet?
This is one of the games that I am going to buy pre-owned. I loved the last installment but like with anything, I am not going to pay $60 for this. I found it used for as low as $15 so that is great news for me. It looks like you are really enjoying yourself so that is awesome!
