All Out Brawl Between Death Dealers At Upper Silver | Splinterlands X Social Media Challenge
Hello, splinter-warriors. I hope you all are doing well.
Today, I will share a battle that covers the essence of the strategy behind using your units in your deck and to make such a deck, you need the appropriate monsters in your arsenal. The better monsters won of course.
Without further ado, let's begin!
Battle Conditions
The mana cap is 38 and there are 4 summoners to choose from: Fire, Life, Death, and Dragon.
Battle Rules:-
- Earthquake: All non-flying units will get hit with physical damage of 2 at the start of each round starting from round 2.
- Lost Legendaries: Legendary units cannot be summoner.
Keeping the high mana, the available summoners, and the battle rules in mind, it is sure that there is going to be a full-on brawl between monsters. Therefore, I decided to take the Death Summoner's aid since it has all the traits I wanted to guarantee an edge over my opponent.
Battle Details
Let's start from my side:
Summoner: Thaddius Brood(Ability: Decrease in HP and Magic damage by 1 for all enemy monsters)(Level 5).
Tank: Cursed Windeku(Ability: Thorns, Heal).
Ranged Attacker: Venari Marksrat(Ability: Martyr), Dhampir Stalker(Ability: Aim True, Deathblow), Gargoya Devil(Ability: Flying, Close Range, Deathblow).
Blocked Melee Attacker: Arachne Thug(Ability: Reach, Trample).
Non-Attacker: Riftwing(Ability: Flying, Scavenger, Back Fire).
My strategy was to have my tank, which could heal itself and blocked melee attackers receive a stats boost after Marksrat fell in the second round. I also wanted a few of my monsters to survive so I used 2 monsters with flying ability and kept the scavenger in the middle of the deck so that it could be unharmed for the most part. I used the other flying unit at the back to avoid melee attackers that might attack from the backlines. I used a ranged attacker that was guaranteed to give me a damage of 4.
My overall damage per round is 12 with a healing of 3. After the second round and onwards, it would come to 16 per round.
Now for the opposition's turn.
Summoner: Thaddius Brood(Ability: Decrease in HP and Magic damage by 1 for all enemy monsters)(Level 2 Gold Foil)
Tank: Cursed Windeku(Ability: Thorns).
Blocked Melee Attackers: Dinintegrator(Ability: Demoralize), Xenith Monk(Ability: Heal).
Non-Attackers: Riftwing(Ability: Flying, Scavenger).
Ranged Attackers: Supply Runner(Ability), Dhampir Stalker(Ability: Aim True).
His strategy was to hit me from the front with everything he had. He wanted the incoming melee damage to be reduced by 1 and he wanted one of his units, that had the healing ability, to survive should it come to the tank's position. He also used a Riftwing like me as he was also keen on collecting HP. He used 2 ranged units that would survive 3 rounds at least and he was sure to derive a decent amount of damage from them.
His overall damage per round is 9 with 2 healing.
Major Events
The first monster to fall is his tank after the first half making it a 3 v 6 since 2 of his monsters are blocked.
Early in the game, my Marksrat fell, just like how I wanted it to, and got my tank and blocked melee attacker to get a stats buff making it a 3 v 5.
Shortly after, his Disintegrator fell, leaving his other blocked attacker the chance to complete the attacks finally.
Near the end of the round, my tank finally gave in since it was at its lowest HP and could not self-heal.
At the start of the round both his ranged attackers fell leaving his non-attacker to fend for itself.
Since his net attack was 0, I won after turns as both my ranged attackers turned on the heat and delivered deathblows.
Results
If only he had used a monster that would help him do more damage, his overall damage would have been higher, and then maybe he might've had a chance to put me on the rails. Moreover, my tank had a self-healing aspect, as my level was significantly higher than his, which did provide me with an edge over him.
