Ridley Scott returned to dueling in historical drama format many years after the remarkable 1977 film The Duelists in a Napoleonic context. He did it with this The Last Duel, based on a true fact from the 14th century French, put to the test by Eric Jager. It introduces us to the nobleman and soldier Jean de Carrouges (Matt Damon) who challenges his friend and former squire, Jacques Le Gris (Adam Driver) to a duel to the death. All this as a result of his wife, Marguerite (Jodie Comer), telling him that Jacques raped her while Jean was on a military campaign in Scotland. The duel is accepted by the lord of the place, Count Pierre d'Alençon (Ben Affleck).

First of all to say that the best thing about the film is the interpretation of Jodie Comer. The story is well set and with an intense final duel. Beyond this the moral is the importance of the search for the truth regardless of whether it depends on the outcome of a deadly game. I think in that sense it's more of the same, a good true story with a good director. Enjoyable, yes, more if you are a lover of the genre. I wish you a beautiful Thursday.

I saw a couple of trailers for this movie and it was hard to figure out what was going on. I hope when I have a chance to see it I will be able to figure it out. And Matt Damon and Ben Affleck in another movie together. Good stuff

Yes, it's great to see them work together. I recommend seeing it, it is a very good movie. Personally, I expected more, maybe sometimes I'm too picky about good directors. I hope that when you can see it, you will leave me a comment or tag me to read the review. Thanks for stopping by. I leave you here something to smile !LOLZ
