A scavenger hunt in Klaipeda old town with Chia (part 2)
You can find the part 1 of this trip here.
The second day of this trip is find the hidden gems around Klaipeda old town area.
We checked out and took the bus number 8 from the bus station in front of guesthouse and arrived at the station on Senamiesčio street.
From here, we walk onto the small paved roads. Entered the own town area, we could see blocks of German-styled houses built in 17th century (my photos below) and our gems-hunt began:
The german house in Klaipeda Old Town
The oldest tailor shop inside the old town at the end of a house block. This shop offers the traditional old clothing of Lithuanian minor, which is made of natural linen and woollen.
The Amber Museum (workshop & store): Walked 5 mins from the oldest tailor shop to the main road of the own town’s central area. There were many restaurants and bar. We saw the popular Amber Museum. Sorry we forgot to take photos of this place because we too focused on shopping their so pretty genuine amber jewelry.
Source PhotoThe Theatre Square (main square) with the monument for the dedication of German Poet. I learnt a very interesting information about this historical spot from Amber Museum staffs . This area was the place Adolf Hitler made his speech before German invaded Klaipeda town.

The monument to remember German poet SIMON DACH-
The cute sculpture of golden mouse: This tiny statue can be found at a junction of minor paved paths, just 03 minute walk from the main square. The mouse sat on a low wall, next to the marble Piano and the giant chess table.
The golden mouse and Chia The marble Piano and the giant chess table: This giant chess table can be played by moving the huge chess around. The chess are made by very light durable plastic. We played a short match before finding another sculpture.
The sculpture of bronze cat: This statue was located on another low wall, very close to the giant chess table.
The white vessel “Meridianas“: Walked out of the own town area, then passed by the central park, over bridge “Biržas” to witness the famous symbol of Klaipeda seaport city on River “Dangės”. This yatch was build in 1940s and restored to become a restaurant nowaday.

The well-known vessel Maridian of Klaipeda
Visiting Meridian Vessel ended our scavenger hunt and we took the bus number 8 to Klaipeda train station for a train back home (Siauliai city). Luckily, the weather was very nice and we really enjoy this day trip!
Hope you enjoy the 2nd part of our trip to visit Klaipeda city of Lithuania.
