The bidding market is actually a good suggestion.
I just started doing the Music Promoter missions to get into the festival gigs. I'm bidding about 20,000 STARBITS to get 1 STARPRO. I've only just started though, so this number may not be that accurate.

I have been getting my STARPRO from HIVE-Engine. I should take a look at Music Promoter Missions because the price of STARPRO have gone up quite a lot over the last few months.
