It's not the only way to create. You can also create a Keystore after you've created a HIVE account.
Keystore is just the best, and it's good we have it because as we seek adoption, we should make it easier for new people to enter. Some don't know much about crypto wallets so keystore will be easy

Do it! it's the most common mistake in self-custody land! I keep my seed phrase on a text file on a USB stick I keep inside a fire-proof safe.
