I really liked this album in several aspects, turning to genres like new wave soft rock and pop that couldn't be missed, feeling more upbeat and active in most of the songs, but at the same time felt heartbreaking because of the lyrics. They made me feel better about myself, feeling that there was someone who might understand me very well and that I could feel more accompanied. Songs like "Soy el diluvio" that reflect how insignificant I feel before certain love interests I had (and have) in my life. Then we move on to songs like "Quince mil días" in which I wanted people to remember me as someone good and to ignore the bad tongues, and suddenly the next song is a 180° turn in which we talk about how it doesn't matter what they say about me, I'm a bad guy, so what? Then comes "La Herida" which reflects that there can be fights in life that are worth winning, insisting that I will achieve my goals and that no matter how hard the blow is, as they say el que no quiere morir, que no nazca (he who doesn't want to die, don't be born). Arriving then to "Documentaries" that reflect how perhaps my life is not the most admirable and great, that if they made a documentary about it, it would be a very boring one and they would refuse to produce it because of how unimportant I was. Finishing with an acoustic track like "Lo dorado se desvanece" which could be considered a conversation between the mirror and yourself, or in this case, the mirror and José Madero, considering all aspects of his life both good and bad (mostly the bad ones) and trying to encourage himself so he doesn't feel so alone.

I loved the album, it feels quite fresh in concept, however, it doesn't feel like much of a change from "Psalmos". I understand that Pepe has been characterized in the genre of "the sad song" as he says, but I feel that he could go further in terms of some songs like "cantares de gesta" which felt lazy, like "En vano", I understand that he wants to express melancholy but I don't feel that it hooks me at all. Some songs like "A tu merced" or "Providenca a la izquierda" if you can feel the melancholy he wants to convey. Both its closing and its ending were excellent, "Quita esa cara" which motivates you to keep listening to the album and makes you want to listen to more to find out what else it has to offer, and then ending with that song that feels heartbreaking but at the same time leaves you with a feeling of ambiguity in which you will decide how to see the world, if it is beautiful or depressing. That's why I give it a 7.5, it felt like a good job, but it could have been better.

Quarantine was a stage that marked everyone's lives in some way. From people who lost loved ones to the virus, to people who had to learn to live without doing anything at all. I even saw marriages of up to 2 decades, which had ended overnight. For my part, the quarantine helped me to reflect on myself in many ways. When the confinement was declared, I was only 3 months past my 18th birthday, so legally I was already an adult. Even though I was aware of my responsibilities and so on, I still wanted to be young in some ways, however, the quarantine helped me to focus on myself and question what I was going to do with my life, which is when I realized that I no longer cared if I died alone, that is, if I never got married. I didn't care if people remembered me fondly or not, I didn't care if I lived to be 100 years old or if I died the next day, I simply wanted to launch my projects, both musical and written, so that the individual who might be interested or not, could enjoy them and know that I exist or that at some point I existed.

It had been 3 years since Jose Madero had released an album, this being his most recent work "Psalmos" (not counting the singles and EP's), which spoke of the depression that may or may not have happened during a relationship that sadly did not work out. It was one of his most popular works that catapulted him even further in his solo career, showing that he has a very different side to that of Pepe Pxndx. In the current year that is about to end 2022 he released his new album "Giallo", which follows the tradition of colors that had been seen since his first work "Carmesí" (2016), an album that deals with some themes like the ones I talked about in the introduction of this blog.

> The term Giallo, which in Italian means yellow, comes from the color of the covers of these novels, which told stories of crime and mystery and which reached a great acceptance in post-fascist Italy.

Giallo could be considered one of the shadiest albums Jose Madero has ever made, even since his years in Pxndx with raw lyrics that explore themes such as the mental disorders that people might go through during difficult times, or at least that's how Pepe himself put it in some interviews. Pain, loneliness, suicide, death and gratitude are reflected in this work. Feeling like a novel of the genre in question.
