Excursion to Pont de la Stua, Alano di Piave - Belluno - Discovering Italy with alequandro!

Hello everyone, a few days ago I was browsing on Google Maps in search of new places and I came across this place: Pont de la Stua.

Ciao a tutti, qualche giorno fa navigavo su Google Maps in cerca di posti nuovi e mi sono imbattuto su questo posto: Pont de la Stua.

Never heard before. I didn't think twice and as soon as I finished lunch I left for Alano di Piave, in the province of Belluno.

Mai sentito prima. Non ci ho pensato due volte e appena finito di pranzare sono partito in direzione Alano di Piave, in provincia di Belluno.

There is no real parking for the car, you have to use the widening of the road that there are somewhere.

Non c'è un parcheggio vero per l'auto, bisogna utilizzare gli allargamenti della strada che ci sono in qualche punto.

The road is narrow, it is not advisable to wait too long to park, better to continue on foot, because if you meet another car, it is a problem.

La strada è stretta, non conviene aspettare troppo per parcheggiare, meglio proseguire a piedi, perchè se si incontra un'altra auto, è un problema.

The road winds downhill into the valley, and is almost always in the shade as the sun is always hidden by the mountain in the afternoon.

La strada si infila in discesa nella valle, ed è quasi sempre all'ombra inquanto il sole, nelle ore pomeridiane è sempre nascosto dalla montagna.

The atmosphere is a bit gloomy in this period but I do not mind because it is a place surrounded by nature and not very popular.

L'atmosfera è un po' tetra in questo periodo ma a me non dispiace perchè è un luogo immerso nella natura e poco frequentato.

At a certain point a small votive chapel is visible. The structure has the shape of an intersecting A and M. The initials of Ave Maria.

Ad un certo punto si intravede una piccola cappella votiva. La struttura ha la forma di una A e una M che si intersecano. Le iniziali di Ave Maria.

Right next to the chapel there is a stream that reduces a very loud noise.

Proprio a fianco della cappella c'è un torrente che oriduce un rumore molto forte.

There is a crossroads, on the right there is an indication for another excursion, continuing you will come to a large old house.

C'è un bivio, a destra c'è un'indicazione per un'altra escursione, proseguendo si arriva ad una grande vecchia casa.

Instead, taking the road to the left, skirt the stream and continue a little uphill.

Prendendo invece la strada a sinistra, si costeggia il torrente e si prosegue un po' in salita.

Thanks to this sign I discovered that in this place, in the First World War, an Austrian sergeant captured in the night, 150 Italian soldiers surprised while they were sleeping.

Grazie a questo cartello ho scoperto che in questo luogo, nella prima guerra mondiale, un sergente austriaco a catturato nella notte, 150 soldati italiani sorpresi mentre dormivano.

There is a really nice spot with a bench where you can relax next to the stream.
In spring and summer it must be beautiful.

C'è un punto davvero bello con una panchina dove ci si può rilassare a fianco al torrente.
In primavera ed estate deve essere bellissimo.

I was enthusiastic about the path, I could not wait to continue to find out what followed but there was an unexpected event.

Ero entusiasta del sentiero, non vedevo l'ora di proseguire per scoprire il seguito però c'è stato un imprevisto.

The day before it had rained and the road was cut off by water. I didn't know how to pass!

Il giorno prima aveva piovuto e la strada era interrotta dall'acqua. Non sapevo come passare!

Unfortunately I didn't have the right shoes...I had to give up.

Purtroppo non avevo le scarpe adatte...ho dovuto rinunciare.

I was a little sorry, but then I thought: I discovered a beautiful place, in spring it must be fantastic. I'll be back!

Ero un po' dispiaciuto, ma poi ho pensato: ho scoperto un bel posto, in primavera dev'essere fantastico. Ci tornero!
