A few months ago the glass cup of my electric coffee maker broke, rendering it unusable since I could not find a replacement in the stores.

Although this is not the only option I have to prepare my coffee, I use it very often as a way to save domestic gas since in my locality buying a gas cylinder is not an easy task.

Even though they gave me no hope of finding the replacement cup, I didn't want to throw it away and kept it with the intention of being able to retrieve it at a later date. After a few months I came up with the brilliant idea of replacing the original cup with a large coffee cup that was the ideal height for inserting it into the base of the coffee maker.

As I had the problem that I no longer had the broken cup, which had a lid that makes the button through which the coffee comes out go up and can leak; it was necessary to remove this device. I carefully checked the coffee maker and realized that it was possible to remove the dispensing button. To do this I removed the rubber that is located on the inside of the funnel and then the dispenser is released.

 
Once this problem was solved I took the measurement and went to the supermarket to buy a cup that would fit the ideal size, it is 10 cm high maximum. The first cup I bought was this one, with the perfect size for both the amount of coffee I prepare and the size of the base.

 
Despite not being the ideal mug, because I would like it to have a dispensing spout that allows me to pour the coffee without spilling, this cup allowed me to use my electric coffee maker again. 🥳🥳 However, I noticed that the coffee cooled very quickly because the cup did not fit well in the base, this one was too wide. So I set out to find another cup that was smaller in the base.

 
I decided to buy the coffee mug I am currently using because I loved its cat design, plus it met the ideal model and size. 🤭😻

I've been trying to find a mug that has an easier spout for pour over coffee but haven't found one that has the ideal size. In the meantime I solve with these beautiful cups and thus managed to save my coffee maker.

Rescatando mi cafetera eléctrica

Hace unos meses se partió el vaso de vidrio de mi cafetera eléctrica, lo cual la inutilizó ya que en las tiendas no encontré el repuesto de reemplazo.

Aunque ésta no es la única opción que tengo para preparar mi café, la utilizo muy a menudo como una manera de ahorrar el gas doméstico ya que en mi localidad comprar una bombona de gas no es tarea fácil.

A pesar de que no me daban esperanza de encontrar el vaso de reemplazo, no quise desecharla y la guardé con la intención de poder recuperarla más adelante. Al cabo de unos meses se me ocurrió la brillante idea de sustituir el vaso original por una taza grande de café que tuviera la altura ideal para introducirla en la base de la cafetera.

Como tenía el problema que ya no disponía del vaso quebrado, el cual tenía una tapa que hace que el botón por donde sale el cafe suba y pueda colarse; era necesario quitar este dispositivo. Con detenimiento revisé la cafetera y me di cuenta que era posible retirar ese botón dispensador. Para ello retiré la goma que se encuentra en la parte interior del embudo y luego se libera el dispensador.

 
Una vez resuelto este problema tomé la medida y fui al supermercado a comprar una taza que se ajustara al tamaño ideal, son 10 cm como máximo. La primera taza que compré fue esta, con la medida perfecta tanto para la cantidad de café que preparo, como para el tamaño de la base.

 
A pesar de no ser la taza ideal, porque me gustaría que tuviera un pico dispensador que permita servir el café sin esparcirse, ésta taza me permitió volver a utilizar mi cafetera eléctrica. 🥳🥳 No obstante, noté que el café se enfriaba muy rápido porque la taza no encajaba bien en la base, ésta era muy ancha. Así que me dispuse a encontrar otra taza más reducida en la base.

 
Decidí comprarme la taza de café que estoy utilizando actualmente porque me encantó su diseño de gatos y además cumplía con el modelo y medida ideal. 🤭😻

He tratado de encontrar una taza que tenga una boquilla más fácil para servir el café pero no he encontrado una que tenga la medida ideal. Mientras tanto resuelvo con estas hermosas tazas y así logré salvar mi cafetera.
