Learning Digital Drawing - Demons

Hey friends I hope you are very well, for today I bring you this illustration titled demons, which first started as a simple portrait study but as I progressed I came up with the idea of giving it that demonic purple atmosphere which I have seen in many horror anime series, so it has served me well first to practice and second to let my memory and imagination fly a little, then I leave you the steps of this drawing.

Hey amigos espero esten muy bien, para el dia de hoy les traigo esta ilustracion titulada demons, la cual primero empezo como un simple estudio de retrato pero conforme fui avanzando se me ocurrio la idea de darle esa atmosfera purpura demoniaca la cual he visto en muchas series de anime de terror, asi que me ha servido bastante primero para practicar y segundo para dejar volar un poco mi memoria e imaginacion, a continuacion les dejo los pasos de este dibujo.

Process 📝 Proceso

I start with loose lines to fit the pose, after this I begin to refine the lines, but not so much since in the end many of them will not be seen, where if I try to be as precise as possible it is in the part of the face already that defining those areas with paint is more complicated for me.

Empiezo con líneas sueltas para ir encajando la pose, luego de esto empiezo a refinar las lineas, pero no tanto ya que al final muchas de ellas no se veran, donde si trato de ser lo mas preciso posible es en la parte de la cara ya que definir esas zonas con pintura se me complica mas.

After having my sketch defined, I proceed to paint, this time I wanted to do it in grayscale since the reference was in black and white and it also helped me to focus on the values, after having the grayscale ready, it occurred to me to give it a little more life to this study adding that background of demons or ghosts which would give it an atmosphere of darkness, for the color I chose a purple color palette; In this matter of colors I must study it more since I have little or almost no knowledge of color theory.

Luego de tener mi boceto definido procedo a pintar, esta vez quise hacerlo en escala de grises ya que la referencia estaba en blanco y negro y ademas me servia para centrarme en los valores, luego de tener lista la escala de grises se me ocurrio darle un poco mas de vida a este estudio agregando ese fondo de demonios o fantasmas los cuales le darian una atmosfera de oscuridad, para el color elegi una paleta de colores purpuras; en esto de los colores debo estudiarlo mas ya que domino muy poco o casi nada la teoria del color.

To finish this study add the final touches in which I render a little more the skin and also add lights to the illustration and effects that will focus more on the girl; and that has been all for this study I hope you liked it, bye bye

Para finalizar este estudio agregue los toques finales en los cuales renderize un poco mas la piel y tambien agregue luces a la ilustracion y efectos que enfocaran mas a la chica; y eso ha sido todo por este estudio espero les haya gustado, chauuuuuuu
