Monomad: Karasu Gomi-gumo
I'll be submitting some macro shots for the #monomad challenge, which is hosted by @monochromes.
In the underbrush, I saw this spider weaving a web. It's the strangest spider I've ever seen—the spider is jet black with a lengthy abdomen. I learned that it was a species of Cyclosa atrata that belonged to the family Araneidae after doing an internet search. The spider's common name escapes me; however, in Japan it is known as karasu gomi-gumo . Despite not knowing what it means, I think it's a cool name.
