Mekong River 🌊 | Life of Small Family 🛶 👨👨👧👦
We may have to face the fact that river life is common in Asia as well as in Cambodia, some people think that living on the river by boat is risk and even more uncomfortable. For sure, everybody who live like this suffer from both nature disasters and life, some of them can’t even afford their kids too school even though the school is just nearby because of how poor they are now and I understand. They said they really want their kids to go to school like others children.
Hello everyone how are you I hope you all enjoyed in this weekend today I’m @ah leap will to share you about situation in Cambodia.do you want to know?
Please take a look at some of the pictures I took the day before.
This family boats with kids boy and girls doing a business on the river by finding fish or we can called it fishing. The chance of finding fish is seems like unsustainable for them, some day they might catch up a big fish and sell it in a special price however if there a little fish they might end up with low income. In this new month, the wind blows, the leaves begin to fall, and the water begins to recede. Now there is not much rain, it only rains once, which is why we know that the rain is almost over, we have to enter the dry season or so-called autumn.
Because my house was next to the river, I heard the sound of a boat that the Cham people were fishing for, indicating that the fish were already abundant. It is normally 9 am that they will bring their fish to sell, the majority who live in this village are waiting for their fish including me. In fact they actually sell those fish in an affordable price so that everyone can afford it.
There are, however, more people selling fish , many stall that you can find, they will speak to you like a friend, they are so friendly as well, asking me how are you today since they truly know me because I came here regularly sometimes with my daughter and sometimes alone. This morning I went to a small market near my house to look for a fish shop, I saw many Cham people who sell fish, I choose the good fish I want.
In fact, there is a lot of fish, but there is a lot of small fish for prahok, there are not many big fish for sale, big fish are often collected by traders to the market in the city. Maybe I decided to cook this fish for today lunch maybe grill or making soup, I will discuss with my husband.
This atmosphere can feel like you visited a market of Cambodia during 90s I remember when I was young people in my village rarely go to a big market because fish can catch at the lake, everyone can get the fish by fishing whenever they need food, some of my neighbors always share the fish with my family. One more thing we grow the vegetable in our backyard so everything that we usually cook is there. Not only the fish there is also a shrimp and frog as well. I am not sure if someone still eat frog but my local people still finding frog for food.
Small fish is there, I can say this is a natural fish without chemicals. You know the news is now always reported about chemical use in meat so make sure you be careful with that.
I always enjoy reading these informative photo stories. First time I learnt that there is also a dry season there and that it is starting now.
Sending you a hug from Portugal
and I am curious how that fish meal is going to taste.
