Choice Of Mix Cropping For Rainy And Dry Season
mix cropping is a situation where more than one crop in planted under the same soil environment. Most farmers loves mix cropping because it creates more space for other crops, reduces farming expenditures, and farm land portion management.
Mix cropping is very much okay but that has to do with the type of crops mix together in one farmland and also it depends of the weather season. Some crops mixed together with other crops don't usually grow very fine which may result to one killing another or both may even die. It's very important to know the type of crops to mixed together.
Another important thing about mixed cropping is the season to plant. They're crops that can grow with other crops during raining season while they're other crops that can be planted together with other crops during the dry season and they'll all grow very fine. In all rainy season remain the best for all types of crops when we talk about mix cropping because almost all the crops we have need rain to germinate and bear fruit and seed. In dry season, we must be very careful the types of crops to mix with other crops.
During the rainy season, I usually cultivate farm ridges to plant more than one crops known as mix cropping. The type of crops I plant is usually different from the one I usually plant during the dry season.
In rainy season, I usually plant cassava stems, yam, melon, and maize together in one farm land. This crops is usually best time be planted together only during the rainy season because there's usually enough water from the soil for the crops to grow with.
It's more important to know that why cassava stems, maize, melon, and yam can grow together very fine is because they don't have the same life sperm. Before cassava will germinate to reach the level to produce cassava tubers, maize, melon, and yam planted almost the same week must have been harvesting. Again, maize, and melon doesn't have disturbing roots to affect other crops planted together in the same farm land.
The best mix cropping I usually practice during the dry season is usually on vegetables because vegetables is best grown with freshness during the dry season. Different vegetables are planted together in one farmland and they all grow together without affecting others. I usually plant water leaf, garden egg, pepper, and African pumpkin together in one farmland which they all usually grow together with freshness. I usually support mixed cropping during dry season with manure like animals dump.
Mixed cropping is a good way to minimize farming crop and improve on our output. Thanks for sharing.
Best output is when we make the choice right for dry or rainy season.
