(English)

Hello everyone. This morning, while I was walking through some streets of my town, I could observe a tree, which in our country we know as the Araguaney. It is the national tree, a protected species, a tree that is very colorful and striking. Its intense yellow color makes it stand out in the landscape.

I remember as a child, when arriving at the coast of my town, it was enough to look up at this time of the year, and you were delighted observing that immense yellow mantle formed by the large number of these trees.

I am 47 years old, and in that period many things have changed. This tree, little by little, is becoming an endangered species. Today, I had the opportunity to observe a "specimen under captivity" so to speak; in a place that could be said to be under protection.

It is sad to see the damage we have done to our environment. This is not a criticism, it is not a protest. It is a reflection, and I believe that issues like these matter less and less to people every day.

You, friends who are reading these brief lines, try to help the younger ones to establish as a goal in their lives, to plant at least one tree, and not to forget about it until it bears its first fruits. This should be a mandatory goal for every human being.
What do you think?

Below, I show you the Araguaney I saw this morning.
