Share Your Weekly Battle Challenge Featuring River Nymph By affliction

Hope everyone is having a great weekend with family and friends.
Today I am here to share my experience in a battle featuring the card of the week, River Nymph. Do give this a read if you are interested and support my article if you like it.

ABOUT THE CARD :
Water is one of the strongest splinters in the game and it is well known for it's dominance with magic monsters.
Though in chaos legion edition, water splinter is more melee focused, it does also have few hidden gems that are not melee.
River Nymph is one such card, which acts brilliantly as a support with it's abilities and dealing fair amount of magic damage too.
Before we see the card in action, let's have a look into the details and stats of the card.

River Nymph is a 4 mana card that has 1 magic damage, 2 speed and 3 hp at level 1. Though that does not seem very interesting, the 4 mana card is best known for its Cleanse ability at all the levels which comes very handy specially in Noxious Fumes rule set.
At level 4, the card gets it's second ability Amplify and at the highest level i.e. level 8, the card also has Swiftness. At the highest level, the card is having 2 magic damage, 3 speed and hp which is quite decent for 4 mana but when we consider the abilities with the stats, the card seems very very useful in low mana matches.
For today's battle, we will be going over a gold league battle in which we are using a rented level 6 copy of River Nymph.

THE RULE SET :

• Mana Cap : 19
• Rule sets :
  Silenced Summoners: Summoners do not give any stat buffs or debuffs or grant/use any abilities.
  Little League: Only Monsters & Summoners that cost 4 Mana or less may be used in battles.
• Available Splinters :
  Fire
  Water
  Death

THE LINE UP :

Position	Card	Mana	Level	Description
Summoner		4	6	For our summoner, we went with a level 6 Kelya Frendul as water is my go to deck for low mana matches.
Position 1		3	7	As our tank, we went with a level 7 Cruel Sethropod that comes with 2 melee damage, 2 speed, 5 armor and 6 hp.A solid tank for only 3 mana cost.
Position 2		4	6	At the second position, we have placed a level 6 copy of the card of the week, River Nymph with 2 magic damage, 3 speed and 3 hp along with Cleanse and Amplify abilities.
Position 3		3	5	In the 3rd position, we have placed one of my most used card, Uraeus. The level 5 copy used in the battle has 2 melee damage, 4 speed, 1 armor and 4 hp along with Sneak and Poison.
Position 4		2	4	In the 4th position, we placed a level 4 Igor Darkspear. For only 2 mana, this offers us with 2 ranged damage haing 3 speed and 4 hp. At this level, the card is also having Stun ability which alone can win you matches.
Position 5		3	8	In the next position, we hae placed another super useful reward card, Pelacor Bandit. The card comes with Flying and Sneak abilities at all levels and at level 8, it comes with 3 melee damage, 6 speed and 4 hp.
Position 6		0	1	In the last position, we have placed the 0 mana cost card, Torrent Fiend as a Sneak protection. There is no doubt how critical a Fiend can be in determining victories, specially low mana or Little league battles.

THE OPPONENT LINE UP :

Summoner		4	6	For the summoner, the opponent chose a level 6 Thaddius Brood which would allow him to choose from the wide range of low mana death monsters.
Position 1		4	6	At the first position, we will be facing the neutral low mana tank, Xenith Monk with 2 melee damage, 4 speed, 7 hp combined with Heal and Void abilities at level 6.
Position 2		7	3	In the 2nd position of the deck,we are facing another secondary tank in the form of Shadow Snitch with 2 melee damage, 3 speed, 6 hp having Reach and Affliction.
Position 3		3	5	In the 3rd position, like us, the opponent too chose a level 5 Uraeus.
Position 4		4	8	In the 4th position, we are facing a level 8 Riftwing. Though the card does not have any attacking ability, it acts as an amazing meat shield with 5 speed and 6 hp. And additionally, it comes with FlyingScavengerBackfireHeadwinds
Position 5		0	1	In the last spot, like us, the opponent to placed the fiend from the death splinter, Corpse Fiend as the Sneak](https://www.splintercards.com/abilities.php?ab=3) protection

THE HIGHLIGHTS :

• Round 1:

In the very first turn of the battle, our Pelacor Bandit takes out the Corpse Fiend from the opponent back line. However, soon after, the Uraeus from the opponent team too takes out the Torrent Fiend from our back line.

• Round 2:

In this round, our Uraeus eliminates the Riftwing getting it's first kill of the battle.
Soon in the round, our Igor Darkspear too gets it's first kill taking out the Xenith Monk from the first position.

• Round 3:

In the third round, the Igor Darkspear got it's second kill by eliminating Shadow Snitch. In the last hit of the round, Cruel Sethropod deals the killing blow to the opponent Uraeus getting us the victory.

DID MY STRATEGY WORK?
My strategy was to play the double Sneak combo of Pelacor Bandit and Uraeus to target the opponent back line and 3 monsters in dealing damage to the front line.
Though our featured card River Nymph did not get any kills or even showcase her use with the abilities in this particular battle, she surely dealt a fair amount f damage helping other monsters to get the kills.
To sum it up, our strategy worked out quite well as we not only managed a victory but also had all our monsters alive except the Torrent Fiend.

Do I like the River Nymph? Why or why not?
I do like River Nymph. Though it is not in my every line up, it surely has it's use specially in Noxious Fumes and Little League rule sets or even any battle with low mana cap. I personally own only a level 4 copy of the card and intend to get a higher level copy of this to play her more often.
