snake fruit compote recipe

Hello friends, everyone, hive and food lovers

Hello everyone, come back with me on this occasion, I want to share a market snack in my country, this market snack is very unique because it has a very unique name and shape, it's called salak seed compote, the first time I heard of this salak seed compote. What I have in mind is that compote comes from hard snake fruit seeds, how to process hard snake fruit seeds

but I was very wrong, it turns out that snake fruit compote comes from pumpkin and sweet potato combined with tapioca flour, and rounded so that it is very similar to snake fruit seeds, here I make snake fruit compote with yellow pumpkin for takjil for breaking the fast later, how to make it It's also very easy, you only need a few ingredients that are easy to get

Ingredients for making snake fruit compote:

100 grams of yellow pumpkin
8 tbsp tapioca flour
3 tbsp granulated sugar
cornstarch
palm sugar to taste

how to make :

(1) The first step is to peel the pumpkin first, then wash it clean, boil the pumpkin or steam the pumpkin, after it is cooked, cool it briefly then crush it until smooth.

(2) after that, mix it with 8 tablespoons of tapioca flour then stir well, after taking 1 teaspoon of the mixture then round the dough until it's all used up, after that prepare the water to cook the salak seeds.

(3) After the water boils, add the snake fruit seeds and cook until the snake fruit seeds float to the top, indicating that they are cooked, then remove from heat.

(4) After that, prepare 300ml of water, add half the palm sugar, cook until the palm sugar dissolves, then add the snake fruit seeds and dissolve 2 tablespoons of cornstarch, put them in the snake fruit seeds.
until the salak seeds thicken slightly

(5) After that, take 1 sachet of coconut milk, then dissolve it in 300ml of water then add 1 teaspoon of salt, mix well and also add the cornstarch solution, stir until the coconut milk thickens slightly.

Here are some photos after it is finished

The snake fruit compote is ready to be served. First, take the snake fruit compote then add coconut milk and the snake fruit compote is ready to be enjoyed.
