Man, this UFC event looks primed to be a classic night of fireworks. So many great matchups. Dana White and company have once again done a great job. The fighters of course are great to, for accepting terrific fights that fans will love.

Nothing beats these fall/winter cards. Saturday night of fights, followed by a Sunday full of football. I say that often, but still it's fantastic, I almost feel spoiled as a fan.

Tonight young middleweight prospect Edmen Shahbazyan looks to bounce back and prove that he's not all hype. He's lost two fights in a row, but before then he was about to be the next best thing. Perhaps he will bounce back against a dude I honestly never heard of, in Nassourdine Imavov.

Al Iaquinta vs Bobby Green (Lightweight)

Surprisingly both of these men are unranked. Not for a lack of skill or popularity. Both these guys are top fifteen talent and pretty well known among MMA fans. The similarities don't end there. They both have very similar fight styles and they're virtually identical in body type and size. Both 5'10, they've got identical leg reach and only a one inch difference in reach, with Bobby having the longer reach there.

This fight is a toss up between two well rounded, tough and gritty fighters. This has Fight of the Night possibilities for sure.

Andreas Michailidis vs Alex Pereira (Middleweight)

I know nothing about this fight, I've heard of Pereira but I know nothing.

What is cool is that Andreas is Greek and I'm also Greek! I was thinking the other day that I don't know of any Greek fighters and lo and behold, here is one! I'll be rooting for him!

#2 Justin Gaethje vs #5 Michael Chandler (Lightweight)

Basically copy and paste the Iaquinta/Green fight add some more violence, and improve the rankings and stakes, and you have this insane fight.

These guys are elite and crazy. They will meet in the center of the cage and attempt to murder each other. Fight fans around the world are expecting insanity and blood.

These guys have different body types, Chandler being a pretty short guy overall for the weight class. But that does not in any way give either fighter a disadvantage or advantage in my opinion.

Chandler is stupid quick and explosive and just a really good athlete. Gaethje is similar but maybe slightly less athletic. But he's maybe a shade more technically sound.

I really don't know, these guys are going to war though, I know that. Winner has a large chance at a title fight I would say.

#8 Frankie Edgar vs #13 Marlon Vera (Bantamweight)

This will be a good exciting fight between a long time great, future Hall of Famer in Edgar, vs the hungry young vet in Marlon Vera.

Both these guys have solid rankings. There's a lot of questions in this intriguing bout. Is Edgar too old? Is Marlon ready for more top ten talent?

Rose Namajunas defends her UFC Strawweight Title against Weili Zhang in a highly anticipated rematch

This fight should be good, I guess. I personally feel like Rose will win once again. She won the first fight against Zhang with ease. Rose is sooooo good. The true champ despite her one loss as champ which she quickly avenged. She is in her prime and looks seriously tough to beat.

The only way Zhang wins is if she establishes herself as the more powerful strong woman in the octagon.

This is a very mysterious fight though, considering how easily Rose won the first time. We will see how Zhang can adjust.

Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman looks to continue his reign against big rival Colby Covington in a big re-match!!!

Now this is the fight. This is the fight that has got everyone buzzing.

Current Champion Usman looks to be mostly untouchable right now. He's got a nice stack of title defenses under his literal belt already. There does not appear to be many holes in the Nigerian Nightmare's game. His work ethic has been clear and he seems insanely well rounded.

But, enter Chaos Covington, a true wildcard in this division. Despite being hated by many in the sport Covington has given Usman his toughest fight as Champ. That fight was just amazing, but in the end Colby got gassed and battered in the very last round, and the fight was stopped.

Covington has a big mouth, that's true. But nearly everything I said about Usman in terms of skillset, can be said about Covington as well.

I'm intrigued to see how Colby has worked to improve his game since that fight. I've got a feeling he has worked hard to improve.

These guys both don't like each other, I believe this might come down to who wants it more?

I lean towards Kamaru to win, but Colby seems like the type of guy to win these gray area, slight underdog fights.
