NFL QB Rankings for 2023: #26 Kenny Pickett - Pittsburgh Steelers QB
Kenny Pickett is low on the list for many of the same reasons fellow second year QB Desmond Ridder was low on the list. But unlike Ridder, Pickett played more games and in my opinion, looked better overall than Ridder.
Pickett seems pretty capable of running a traditional NFL offense competently. Pickett was 7-5 as a starter in 2022 which is good. Pickett has underrated mobility and has really good size to match at 6-3, 230 pounds. He is not afraid to lower the shoulder and be physical runner.
Pickett had some rookie rust for sure in 2022. He looked sort of unsure of himself at times. He also had a poor TD-INT ratio with 7 touchdown passes and 9 interceptions.
Luckily for Steelers fans that was Pickett's rookie season so hopefully he can go into his second season a bit smarter and stronger. He also is surrounded by good coaching and a good franchise in general.
Again, similar to Ridder, Pickett is for sure 'the guy' heading into the 2023 season. That is also a plus.
We will see though, the Steelers have got a seriously difficult division facing the Bengals, Ravens AND the likely improved Browns. If Pickett can make some noise with that type of division, Pickett can solidify himself as the guy in Pittsburgh.
