NFL QB Rankings for 2023: #25 Brock Purdy - San Francisco 49ers QB
Brock Purdy man, what a cool story. Like the previous two QBs on this list, Purdy is entering his second season in the NFL. It's hard to evaluate players with such little experience. A lot have QBs have looked good for a season or two. I do appreciate longevity in QBs, and health, when ranking them.
Still, I believe he is one of the better young QBs in the league. That is not something I, or probably anybody else, could have predicted prior to the start of last season. The fact that Purdy even saw the field was pretty surprising. Two different quarterbacks had to suffer injury before Purdy got an opportunity to see the field. Once Purdy saw the field, he took advantage of his chance!
Purdy went 5-0 as a starter towards the end of the 2022 season, won TWO playoff games and was leading the 49ers well until he suffered an elbow injury in the NFC Championship game versus the Eagles.
What a tremendous rookie season, and Purdy accomplished all of this after being drafted with the FINAL pick in the 2022 NFL Draft!
Purdy's play style is really great I feel. He honestly reminds me of Aaron Rodgers a bit! Purdy has good enough NFL size with smooth, shifty feet and a beautiful throwing motion as well.
Purdy is still recovering from his elbow injury, but there's a lot of reports that he will be ready for the start of the season.
As long as Purdy stays healthy, I imagine he will rise these QB rankings in a BIG way soon. Especially with the weapons surrounding Brock.
