Walking Through Kensington Gardens
London's Back
I got out again to London today. This time I visited one of the places I used to frequent many years ago. In fact, my university campus was only a stone throw away from this place, so I usually had to walk through it every day of the week back then.
I'm talking about Kensington Gardens! I hadn't been there in over a year. The last time I was there was actually to meet up with some folks from the Hive community. It was just after the first wave of the original variant and just before Delta shut us down again.
It was quite nice to see people walking around, cycling, running, skating or just sitting on the benches chilling. It was not quite as crowded as I remember it, but it may just be due to it being a Sunday. The weather is warming up, so this place is only going to get rowdier by the day.
I also, for the first time in what seems like years now, sat in a packed London Underground train with hundreds of people in my carriage. It didn't feel strange today, even with some people coughing their lungs out. Just a few months ago, that would have freaked me out. Winter to spring change is a time when a lot of people would normally have colds and coughs. Back in the pre-pandemic days, coughing and nose blowing were perfectly normal on a packed train :)
I'm looking forward to the coming week. Looks like we are going to get some good weather. I am starting to book appointments with people I have been planning creative projects with again. Perhaps it's time to organise a Hive meet up somewhere nice.
Peace & Love,
Adé
The weather has been a bit mixed lately. Still good to get out and about. I've not been into London in a while, but I'd be interested in a meetup if someone suggests a time and place.

I'll reach out to some people to see if we can work something out. It would be nice..
I don't think I have been there before. We have to meet somewhere to grab a coffee!
Sure you have! It's the western part of Hyde Park :)
This weather looks very calm and relaxing. Your post reminded me of when I started university the first semester, just a few days before returning to the 2nd semester the pandemic began, and only in this 6th semester "will we return" to see face-to-face classes, in addition to the fact that in winter the weather is similar to the photos of your post.
I really liked your story, friend
It was a bit cold, but quite calming as you said. Yes the pandemic really stole many months from people, especially young adults. I think university days should be spent on a campus together with other students face to face. I hope things get better soon everywhere.
Thanks for stopping by. 🙏
